When developing agents in the DSH environment or debugging conversation flows, you sometimes need to know exactly when each user message was sent, in order to measure response latency or analyze conversation pacing. Existing logs may not include timestamps, and adding them manually can be tedious and error-prone. The dsh-time-prefix plugin addresses this by automatically inserting the current time text before each user message and providing on/off controls.

Plugin Overview

dsh-time-prefix is a lightweight DSH client plugin maintained by user 2522669008-zcy under the MIT license. Its core purpose is to automatically prepend a local timestamp to the message content before user messages enter the DSH flow. After installation, you can control whether the feature is enabled from the settings page without modifying any code.

Core Features

  1. Automatic time prefix: A time text similar to 【2026/08/23,22:36】 is automatically inserted before each user message.
  2. Settings page control: A toggle is provided, allowing you to enable or disable the feature from the settings page.
  3. Differentiated use cases: Unlike dsh-timegap-plugin, this plugin adds a timestamp to every message, making it more suitable for scenarios where you need precise awareness of each message’s send time.

Installation and Enablement

Make sure DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is installed before installing the plugin.

  1. Clone the repository
   git clone https://github.com/2522669008-zcy/dsh-time-prefix
  1. Add the plugin
If the dsh command is in your system PATH, run:
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-time-prefix

If the dsh command is not in PATH, you can run it using npx:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-time-prefix
  1. Restart the service
After installation is complete, restart the DSH Web UI to apply the changes.

Use Cases and Notes

  • Use cases: This plugin is very useful when you need to track specific points in time during a conversation, or when debugging agents whose logic is triggered based on message send times.
  • Note: The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions. It is recommended to review the source code before installation to confirm it meets your security and compliance requirements.
