Introduction¶
When running models in the web interface, DSH (DeepSeek Harness) often has many idle waiting periods. dsh-novel-reader is designed to allow reading local txt files directly inside DSH. It provides features such as bookshelf management, floating-window reading, and progress saving. All data is stored locally and is not uploaded.
Installation¶
Use the following command to install the plugin.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:1024483906-pixel/dsh-novel-reader
Features¶
- Bookshelf and Import: Supports importing txt files and managing the bookshelf.
- Window Control: Supports dragging and resizing the floating window. Provides subtitle-bar-style reading, and supports page turning with the mouse wheel, arrow keys, or buttons.
- Reading Control: Supports font size adjustment (12–32 px), chapter navigation (various formats supported), and full-text search (Ctrl+F, case-insensitive).
- Transparent Mode: Supports transparent mode, where the window background, border, title bar, and bottom bar all disappear, leaving only plain text floating on the interface.
Data Storage¶
Data is stored in the $DSH_HOME/novel-reader/ directory. Book content is saved locally only and is not uploaded. After uninstallation, the data remains and must be cleaned up manually.
Conclusion¶
This is a lightweight local reading tool, suitable for use while waiting for models to run in the DSH interface.
