Introduction¶
The core idea of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developers face ambiguous programming requirements, they often waste tokens before execution or lose experience after execution. The dsh-spec-forge plugin focuses on two things: requirement tiering and template consolidation. It forges ambiguous programming requirements into actionable specifications and, after each task, accumulates them into a personal prompt template library that can be automatically reused.
Core Features¶
Requirement Tiering: Three-Level Response and Three-State Routing¶
Before a model request is sent, the plugin determines the next action based on heuristic rules:
- implement: The requirement is clear (for example, adding a field, updating copy, adjusting spacing), so no follow-up questions are needed; execute directly.
- confirm: The requirement is only a container (for example, “add a button”); use ask_user_question to clarify before taking action.
- triage: The requirement is at the module or architecture level; first run a four-dimensional health check and assign a level.
Requirement Health Check: Four-Dimensional Completeness Analysis and Conservative Defaults¶
Perform a four-dimensional analysis of the requirement and provide conservative default values. Tiering is heuristic; if a check is missed, it falls back to L2 (execute by default) and will not blindly default to L1.
Template Consolidation: Three-Layer Funnel and Same-Name Idempotency¶
Consolidate templates only when there are code changes and the three reuse-value questions are passed. It uses a three-layer funnel mechanism and idempotent updates for same names to avoid unbounded template accumulation.
Automatic Accumulation of Project No-Go Zones¶
Identified no-go zones (for example, not touching common/Result.java) are automatically accumulated in the project profile, and constraints are automatically injected into subsequent requirements.
Recall Mechanism: Zero-Dependency Keyword Fingerprint¶
It is based on keyword fingerprint matching rather than vector search. Recall is limited for requirements that have the same meaning but different wording, but it is explainable and zero-cost.
Cost Control: Reduce Round Trips and Enforce Large-File Discipline¶
Reduce tool round trips (for simple requirements, from 3 to 1). Limit large-file reads to avoid consuming many tokens by reading entire large files.
Installation and Prerequisites¶
Prerequisites:
- dsh is available
- Node 22+
- pnpm is available on the PATH
Installation commands:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:<your-username>/dsh-spec-forge
dsh web # A restart is required for the plugin to be composed into the plugin tree
Notes¶
- dsh is still a developer preview; the plugin pins the API surface.
- Matching is not vector search; recall is limited for requirements with the same meaning but different wording.
- Tiering is heuristic; any missed check falls back to L2.
- The plugin runs in the same process with the same permissions as the host; it only reads and writes the data directory and does not access the network, run shell commands, or read credentials.
- Uninstalling does not delete consolidated template data.
