The sidebar in DeepSeek Harness usually only displays the session list, and managing pinned sessions typically involves reordering rows or using a plugin hidden in the panel. Codex and ChatGPT solve this issue by separating pinned sessions from the recent sessions list.
Plugin Introduction¶
dsh-codex-pins is a plugin that divides the sidebar into two independent sections: “Pinned” and “Recents”. Pinned sessions do not appear again in the recent sessions list. Data is persisted in the browser’s localStorage under the key dsh-codex-pins.v1.
Installation and Enabling¶
The installation commands are as follows:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:robbyisrobby/dsh-codex-pins
dsh plugin --profile desktop add github:robbyisrobby/dsh-codex-pins
After installation is complete, you must restart DeepSeek Harness or DSH Desktop.
Feature Description¶
- Sectioned Layout: The sidebar is divided into Pinned and Recents sections, each scrolling independently.
- No Duplicate Display: Pinned sessions do not appear in the Recents list.
- Newest First: Newly added pinned sessions are displayed at the top.
- Persistent Storage: Storage uses
localStoragewith the keydsh-codex-pins.v1, isolated by browser origin. - Legacy Data Migration: If
dsh-session-pinwas previously used, existing local pinned sessions are imported automatically. - Quantity Limit: Up to 50 pinned sessions are supported. When the session catalog is ready, expired IDs are discarded.
- Pure Frontend Implementation: The UI is rendered purely on the frontend, does not generate model traffic, does not involve host HTTP routing, does not read session logs, and does not include installation scripts.
Usage¶
- Add Pin: Hover over a session row and click the pin icon.
- Add Pin: Open a session and click the pin icon in the conversation header.
- Toggle Location: Click a pinned row to open the session; click the pin icon again, and the session moves back to the Recents section.
Notes¶
- Restart Requirement: After installation, DeepSeek Harness or DSH Desktop must be restarted for the change to take effect.
- Data Limit: The maximum number of pinned sessions is 50; when the session catalog is ready, expired IDs are discarded.
- Permission Scope: The plugin is a pure frontend UI implementation and relies on
localStoragefor storage.
