When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) to build agents or have everyday conversations, if an assistant response mentions stock names or stock codes, getting the corresponding market quotes often requires jumping to external websites. This increases interaction cost. The dsh-stock-mentions plugin maintained by the DSH community solves this problem: it automatically recognizes A-share information, generates clickable buttons in the action area, and clicking one expands market quotes and news in the right-side sidebar.

Plugin Overview

This is a client-side plugin maintained by developer mingzeng21 under the MIT license. It integrates stock recognition capabilities into the DSH Web client through the plugin system, allowing users to quickly retrieve securities data without manual searching.

Core Features

  • Automatic recognition: Automatically recognizes the names and stock codes of ordinary A-shares on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges in assistant responses.
  • Host validation: Only securities uniquely confirmed by the Host display buttons, avoiding false positives (such as dates and amounts).
  • Quote display: The quote panel displays the latest price, change amount/percentage, high, low, open, market capitalization, volume ratio, turnover rate, transaction amount, trading volume, and previous close.
  • Charts and news: Supports intraday trends and forward-adjusted daily K-lines for the most recent 30 trading days; supports individual stock news, with the latest 10 items displayed by default.
  • Responsive layout: The panel’s default width is 360px. When the screen width is less than 320px, it automatically switches to a more compact single-column layout.
  • Theme adaptation: The theme follows DSH, and text content is injected by DSH locale.
  • Data requests: Data requests are handled uniformly by the Host, including timeout, cancellation, caching, response validation, and data-source fallback.

Installation and Activation

The plugin must be installed in DSH’s web profile.

  1. Ensure that the DSH web profile has been initialized.
  2. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-stock-mentions
  1. After installation is complete, stop and restart the DSH Web service, then refresh the browser page:
dsh web

Typical Usage

In the conversation, have the assistant provide a response that contains an explicit stock name or code. After the response is complete, find the corresponding stock button in the action area at the bottom of the assistant response (for example, “Kweichow Moutai”) and click it to view quotes and news in the right-side sidebar.

Example instruction:

请简要介绍贵州茅台(600519.SH)的主营业务,并列出需要关注的风险。

Recognition Scope and Limitations

  • Button location: Because DSH currently does not have a general Markdown text annotation entry point, stock buttons are displayed in the action area of completed assistant responses rather than at the original stock mention location.
  • Securities scope: The plugin only accepts ordinary A-shares from the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges, excluding indices, funds, ETFs, bonds, B-shares, Beijing Stock Exchange securities, and sector codes.
  • Recognized content: The plugin does not parse user messages, reasoning, tool results, Markdown links, code blocks, mathematical formulas, or other non-securities text.
  • Read-only and privacy:
    • No API key, Cookie, Authorization, or other service credentials are required.
    • The browser only submits restricted candidate securities and normalized symbols.
    • The complete original assistant response, arbitrary URLs, or user credentials are not sent upstream.
    • Quote panel state is kept only in the current client session and is not written to conversation logs.
    • The plugin is read-only and does not provide trading, watchlists, holdings, or investment advice features.
