Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture that allows developers to extend its capabilities. During agent development and everyday use, listening directly to audio content within the chat interface is a common need. The dsh-ximalaya plugin integrates with Ximalaya APIs to provide album search, track playback, favorites management, and model tool invocation in the DSH Web interface, enabling an Agent to control audio streams directly.
Plugin Introduction¶
dsh-ximalaya is an online tool plugin maintained by developer jerryqx. It solves the problem that agents cannot directly obtain external audio streams and must manually switch to a web-based player. The plugin proxies Ximalaya APIs on the Host side, provides a persistent playback bar and panel on the Web side, and registers the ximalaya_play model tool, allowing an Agent to control playback directly through conversation.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides a complete audio listening workflow from searching and playback to data synchronization:
- Content Search and Browsing: Supports searching for albums, podcasts, or audiobooks by keywords. Search results are displayed as cards, including cover art, host, category, episode count, completion status, and play count. The track list supports pagination (30 episodes per page), and clicking a track starts playback.
- Persistent Playback Bar: A persistent playback control bar appears above the chat input area. It supports play/pause, previous/next episode, progress seeking, volume adjustment, variable playback speed (0.75x–2x), and fast-forward/rewind (default 15 seconds; right-click to change the step size).
- User Data Management:
- Favorited Sounds: Displays the account’s favorites list, loaded via pagination; clicking an item starts playback.
- My Subscriptions: Displays subscribed albums, including latest update hints.
- Followed Hosts: Displays host avatars, brief descriptions, follower counts, and album counts.
- Model Tool Integration: Registers the
ximalaya_playtool. The Agent can search and play by keywords using thequeryparameter, or play by specifyingalbumId/trackId; it supports theactionparameter to control pause, resume, stop, or track switching. - Cloud Sync and Stream Proxying: Data such as subscriptions, favorites, and followed hosts supports cloud write-back and real-time synchronization with the mobile app. Audio streams are resolved and forwarded by the Host side, with support for Range requests and resumable transfers.
- QR Code Login: Supports logging in to a Ximalaya account via QR code to play VIP or paid content (free content does not require login).
Installation and Activation¶
Before installing, ensure that the DeepSeek Harness CLI is installed and that the Node version is 20 or higher.

Usage¶
- Search and Play: On the panel’s “Search” page, enter keywords (for example, “San Ti” or “Guo Degang”), click an album card, and then click a track to play it.
- Agent Control: Enter a command in the chat box, such as “Play San Ti on Ximalaya.” The Agent will respond by invoking the
ximalaya_playtool. - QR Code Login: On the panel’s “My” page, click QR code login to play VIP or purchased content.
- Speed Control: Click
1.0xon the playback bar to cycle through playback speeds; click🔊to adjust volume; right-click the⏪/⏩buttons to customize the fast-forward/rewind step size. - View Subscriptions and Favorites: After logging in, on the panel’s “My” page, you can view “♥ Sounds” (favorites list), “📻 Subscriptions” (album list), and “👤 Hosts” (followed list). Click any item to play it.
Notes¶
- API Characteristics: The plugin accesses Ximalaya content through unofficial APIs. It is for personal learning, technical research, and casual listening only. Commercial use, public distribution, secondary redistribution, or monetization is strictly prohibited.
- Account Risk: QR code login may trigger Ximalaya’s account risk-control mechanisms. The user is solely responsible for the risk of account bans.
- Functional Limitations:
- Listening History: Synchronization is not supported (the web side has no relevant API).
- Playback Restrictions: Without login, all free albums can be played; paid/VIP content requires login and appropriate permissions.
- Progress Freezing: After seeking an audio track, if the seek exceeds about 10 minutes, expiration of the Host-side cache may freeze playback; pause and then click play again to recover.
- Addition Limitations: For risk-control reasons, the plugin only supports “remove favorite”/”unfollow” and does not support adding favorites or following hosts. These actions must be performed in the mobile app or web client.
- Album Status: Some albums may have been removed or may require login/purchase permissions.
Conclusion¶
dsh-ximalaya provides DeepSeek Harness users with a way to listen directly to Ximalaya content in a local environment and grants the Agent audio-control capabilities through model tools. Please comply with copyright regulations and take account security precautions while using it.
