Introduction¶
When processing long conversations or complex Agent sessions in DeepSeek Harness Web GUI, users often need to scroll up and down frequently to locate key information. Traditional scrollbars can only indicate page position and cannot convey the semantic meaning of each section of content.
dsh-sm-context-piano addresses this issue by providing a set of compact horizontal piano keys on the left side of the chat content. It compresses long conversations into previewable, locatable semantic nodes. Users can quickly browse the conversation structure along the keys, hover to view summaries, and click or use keyboard shortcuts to jump to the target section.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin was developed by maintainer hjj345 and is designed for the DeepSeek Harness Web profile, aiming to improve work efficiency in multi-task and multi-session scenarios.
Core Features¶
- Codex-style compact keys: By default, it uses 2px thickness, 12px center spacing, and 20 visible keys, maintaining a dense arrangement.
- Pure semantic nodes: It only displays user messages and model-visible text output, completely filtering non-output content such as tool, edit, read, reasoning, command, partial, and so on.
- Continuous output merging: Adjacent model text that is not interrupted by non-output content is merged into a single key.
- Fixed-window browsing: When the number of nodes exceeds the limit, a fixed number of nodes is displayed around the current reading position. Select the top or bottom key to continue browsing.
- Safe text preview: The hover card displays a title and body summary. It writes content using
textContentand does not execute HTML from the conversation content. - Quick positioning: Supports clicking a key or pressing Enter/Space to smoothly scroll to the beginning of the target message.
- Trilingual settings page: Supports Simplified Chinese, English, and Traditional Chinese. Simplified Chinese is the default.
- Keyboard and assistive technology support: Supports full keyboard selection, jumping, and closing the preview. The key track uses a navigation role and an accessible name.
- Complete uninstallation: After uninstalling, it removes DOM elements, styles, listeners, observers, timers, and animation frames, leaving no residual page side effects.
Installation and Enablement¶
Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add @hjj345345/dsh-sm-context-piano
After installation, refresh or reopen the DSH Web GUI. Go to the settings dialog and select the first-level setting item “Piano Key Navigation” on the left side to enable it.
Typical Usage¶
- Preview conversation content: Move the mouse across the key track. The plugin automatically selects the nearest node and expands the waveform to display a section preview.
- Jump and locate: Click a key or press Enter/Space. The page smoothly scrolls to the target conversation section.
- Keyboard navigation: Use ArrowUp/ArrowDown to move the selection among currently visible keys, and use Home/End to select the first or last key in the current window.
- Reading synchronization: When scrolling the chat content, the key at the current reading position is immediately deepened and lengthened, and the fixed window is re-centered around the reading position.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for users who need to quickly locate context in long conversations and manage multi-turn Agent interactions.
Before using it, please note:
- Minimum supported version: DSH 0.1.7-rc.1, compatible with 0.2.0-rc.2.
