Foreword

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a plugin-driven agent development framework. To use it directly in the Zed editor, it requires ACP (Agent Client Protocol) v1. dsh-acp is such a plugin. It fills the gap in DSH’s built-in ACP support, acts as an interactive ACP v1 server, and exposes DeepSeek Harness agents in Zed’s Agent Panel.

Plugin Introduction

dsh-acp is a client plugin maintained by dangpangch, currently licensed under MIT. It addresses the need to invoke DeepSeek Harness agents directly in the Zed editor, supporting session management, streaming rendering, and skill loading.

Core Features

  • Session Management: Supports session/new, list, load, resume, close, and delete, with persistent history.
  • Streaming Rendering: Supports agent_message_chunk, reasoning streams, tool cards, and plan/todo updates.
  • Skills and Commands: Supports loading skills from ~/.agents/skills, <project>/.agents/skills, or .dsh/skills.

Installation and Configuration

  1. Install the plugin.
    dsh plugin --profile acp add https://github.com/dangpangch/dsh-acp.git
This command installs the plugin into the specified `acp` profile.
  1. Start it.
    dsh --profile acp
  1. Configure Zed.
    Add a custom agent to Zed’s settings.json.
    {
      "agent_servers": {
        "DeepSeek Harness (acp)": {
          "type": "custom",
          "command": "dsh",
          "args": ["--profile", "acp"]
        }
      }
    }

Notes

  • Dependencies: Requires the dsh CLI (0.1.5-rc.1), pnpm, and the Zed editor with ACP v1 support.
  • Security: Commands run only inside the dsh sandbox; the client renders captured output only and does not execute commands.
  • Limitations: Does not support Windows, MCP tool mounting (accepted but not processed), or session forking.
  • Configuration: You must remove the official @deepseek-ai/dsh-acp-app bundle from the profile’s package.json; otherwise, the official bridge may preempt the connection.

Ecosystem Context

The DSH philosophy is “everything is a plugin.”
