In the plugin ecosystem of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), developers need to integrate multiple models to complete different tasks. CodeBuddy CLI provides multiple models, including GLM-5.3 and DeepSeek-V4-Pro, but DSH does not integrate them natively. The dsh-codebuddy-cli plugin reuses the CodeBuddy CLI login state to solve this integration issue, allowing users to use these models in the DSH conversation window with zero configuration.

Plugin Overview

dsh-codebuddy-cli is a DSH client plugin designed to reuse CodeBuddy CLI authentication files and automatically connect CodeBuddy models to DeepSeek Harness. After installation and enabling, users can directly invoke the CodeBuddy model list without reconfiguring accounts in DSH.

Core Features

  • Ready to use: As long as you have logged in once via CodeBuddy CLI on this machine, after installing and enabling the plugin, you can use it directly in DSH without additional configuration.
  • Login following: The plugin automatically reads the CodeBuddy CLI authentication file (the default path or the path specified by the environment variable CODEBUDDY_CLI_AUTH_FILE) and automatically follows re-login status in the CLI.
  • Multi-account management: Supports adding multiple CodeBuddy accounts by OAuth QR code/link login, and also supports adding accounts by pasting refresh_token (refresh_token is required). Account credentials are saved in $DSH_HOME/.codebuddy-cli-accounts.json.
  • Account switching: In settings, you can view credits and token expiration for each account, and switch the currently active account.
  • Image input: Supports image sending for most models; simply paste or drag images directly into the conversation.
  • Thinking intensity switching: Supports level adjustment for models such as GLM-5.3 (e.g., off / low / high / xhigh). Options appear only for models that have an explicitly declared level list upstream.
  • Credit multiplier and badge display: The credit multiplier (e.g., GLM-5.2 · x0.79) and promotional badge are displayed directly after the model name.
  • In-conversation credit bar: A permanent line is displayed directly below the input box, showing current provider and model information, as well as remaining credits.
  • Daily check-in: Supports daily check-in function; click to invoke the CodeBuddy daily check-in API to claim credits.
  • Optional model configuration: In settings, you can check the models to appear in the model selector, avoiding the selector being filled with too many models.

Installation and Enabling

Before installation, ensure CodeBuddy CLI is installed and logged in, and the DSH version is 0.1.2-rc.1 or later. For the Web profile, it is recommended to install with the following commands:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-codebuddy-cli
dsh web

You can also install from GitHub source:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:fu827707013/dsh-codebuddy-cli
dsh web

Desktop profile users can use:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-codebuddy-cli
dsh --profile desktop

Typical Usage

After installation, switch to a CodeBuddy model in the model selector of the corresponding interface to use it. The following are examples of common commands:

# 查看登录状态与剩余积分
dsh plugin --profile web exec dsh-codebuddy-cli status

# 机器可读输出
dsh plugin --profile web exec dsh-codebuddy-cli status --json

# 环境诊断
dsh plugin --profile web exec dsh-codebuddy-cli doctor

# 清除插件侧凭据副本
dsh plugin --profile web exec dsh-codebuddy-cli logout

Notes

  • TUI users should hold off installing: The terminal interface plugin adaptation for DSH 0.1.2 has not been completed. Testing shows that installing similar plugins under TUI may cause DSH startup to crash (error: events is not iterable). It is recommended to wait for the terminal interface plugin release with an adapted version before installing.
  • Data storage: The plugin’s token refresh results are saved in $DSH_HOME/.codebuddy-cli-auth.json, and pasted tokens are saved in $DSH_HOME/.codebuddy-cli-accounts.json. The plugin does not modify the original CLI authentication file.
  • Permissions and usage: When adding accounts by pasted token, refresh_token is required. For personal learning and research use only; do not use for commercial purposes.
  • Dependency updates: The plugin depends on CodeBuddy CLI client interfaces; after CLI updates, the plugin may need corresponding adjustments.
