Introduction¶
The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) emphasizes modularity and extensibility. The default interface view usually focuses on feature presentation and may make it difficult to meet personalized needs when handling multi-turn agent replies or scenarios requiring an immersive experience. skk-gal is a Web GAL conversation view plugin implemented from scratch, aiming to provide DSH with a Skirk-themed visual and interaction solution. The plugin does not depend on gal-view or the original plugin directory. All assets and logic are bundled with the distribution package, and there is no network dependency at runtime.
Core Features¶
Skirk Theater View¶
The plugin adds a new “Skirk Theater” view to the conversation page. In this view, multi-turn agent replies are displayed as individual cards to the left of the character, while the bottom retains a dedicated user input and recent messages area.
Visual and Dynamic Effects¶
- Standing art and glow: Uses a single-layer character standing art, with a subtle breathing effect, swaying clothing, and an abyss glow effect.
- Conversation display modes: Supports character-by-character display, direct display, show full text, automatic display, conversation log, and interface settings.
- Workflow display: When “Show Full Text” is enabled, reply content expands by paragraphs, and each card maintains the complete context of thinking, tool calls, and the corresponding reply.
Task Panel Integration¶
Within the “Skirk Theater” view, the pending tasks panel can be displayed directly. It supports operation authorization, task selection, and confirmation feedback, and can open the native DSH task panel with one click for fallback operations.
Global Theme and Sidebar¶
- Master switch and scope: The GAL Window master switch is enabled by default. Disabling the master switch removes the plugin’s global theme and restores the original DSH appearance. Even when no workspace is selected, the plugin theme displays the abyss background and the corresponding sidebar.
- Sidebar adjustment: The sidebar width can be adjusted by dragging the ice-blue divider, but must not exceed one-third of the window. When the sidebar is collapsed, the theme background synchronously shrinks to the narrow sidebar.
Mobile and Dynamic Effects¶
The plugin supports responsive mobile layouts and automatically detects the system’s “Reduce Motion” setting, avoiding jank in restricted environments.
Install and Enable¶
Before installation, ensure Node.js is installed on the target computer and that npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web has been successfully run at least once.
- Copy the
skk-galfolder to the target computer. - In PowerShell, enter that directory and run the installation script:
powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\install.ps1
The installation script copies the plugin to %USERPROFILE%\.dsh\plugins\skk-gal and writes the relative dependency configuration. The source folder can be moved or deleted later.
3. Restart DSH:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web
Typical Usage¶
- Automatic view switching: On the new conversation start page, the interface automatically adapts to the Skirk style. After the first message is sent on that page, it automatically switches to the “Skirk Theater” view.
- Quick settings: In the new “GAL Window” quick settings on the DSH settings page, you can adjust the player name, typing speed, character animation, and reply style, and return to the theater with one click.
- Conversation management: In the “GAL Window” settings, archived sessions can be deleted online. These operations are added to a deletion queue and automatically moved to a recoverable local Recycle Bin after DSH exits.
Notes¶
- Resource dependencies: All images are embedded as inline Data URLs in
.dsh-plugin/client.js. At runtime, there are no external file paths or network dependencies. - Configuration storage: Prompts, front-end and back-end communication logic, and switch status are saved in
%USERPROFILE%\.dsh\skk-gal\settings.jsonon the target computer. - Asset copyright: The plugin source code is licensed under the MIT license. Before distribution, ensure you have the redistribution rights for the relevant assets (character, background); the code only changes runtime logic and does not alter the rights ownership of the asset materials themselves.
