The default interface of the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web GUI is fairly generic. If you need deep customization, you can extend it with plugins. dsh-mcskin is a third-party DSH plugin that switches the entire Web UI theme to a Minecraft style.
This is a fun theme plugin maintained by DongDong1997. It provides 6 different theme configurations, covering 3 styles (Classic, Modern MC, Midnight MC) and 2 modes (light/dark). By overriding theme tokens and injecting CSS, the plugin enables page-level and control-level Minecraft-style styling.
Core Features¶
- Theme configurations: Provides 6 theme options (3 styles x 2 modes), each with a complete token mapping (70+ variables).
- Visual decorations:
- The sidebar uses biome gradients.
- A 6px-wide brand-colored grass bar appears at the top of the page.
- A 35% transparent Creeper decoration appears in the bottom-right corner.
- Icons and controls:
- Uses Minecraft pixel-art icons.
- Main page controls are replaced with item icons such as grass blocks, stone, swords, pickaxes, and chests.
- Settings entry: Adds a new settings page that displays themes as grid cards for selection.
- Persistence: The selected theme is saved in the browser’s
localStorage['mcskin.theme']and remains unchanged after page refresh.
Installation and Enabling¶
Install using the official CLI; no manual configuration files are required.
dsh plugin dsh-mcskin
After installation, the Web GUI automatically applies the theme.
Typical Usage¶
- After installing the plugin, open the Settings menu in the Web GUI.
- Find the “🎮 Minecraft Theme” tab.
- On the settings page, click a theme card to select it (for example, “Classic-Light”).
- The page immediately applies the theme and records the selection.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- System requirements: Requires a relatively recent version of DeepSeek Harness (with
theme.overrideTokens,settings.sectionlist slots, andbodyaccess). - Dependencies: Requires React 18 and a modern browser supporting CSS
color-mix,data-uri svg, andimage-rendering: pixelated. - License: MIT License.
- Source: The plugin is hosted on the SkillHub directory and GitHub. It has no affiliation with official DeepSeek and is a community third-party plugin.
If you are using DSH and want a more immersive interface experience, this plugin provides a direct and customizable solution.
