Introduction

The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developing agents, persistent memory across sessions and restarts is a common requirement. Traditional solutions often require self-hosting a vector database such as Qdrant and configuring an embedding model such as BGE-m3, which carries a relatively high configuration cost. The dsh-vector-memory plugin embeds the memory core directly into the DSH ecosystem and uses the built-in storageDomain in DSH to provide persistent storage with zero external dependencies.

Plugin Positioning

dsh-vector-memory is a DSH plugin provided by maintainer Bryan-cmf and belongs to the “memory” category. It provides a persistent Agent memory core, exposing three core tools: mem_save, mem_search, and mem_health, along with the vectorMemory service injection capability.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following capabilities:

  1. mem_save: Saves a memory. Accepts the parameters { content, tags?, ttlDays? } and returns the persisted memory ID.
  2. mem_search: Retrieves memories. Accepts the parameters { query, limit? } and returns ranked match results.
  3. mem_health: Performs a health check. Returns the total record count, expired record count, domain status, and TTL policy.
  4. Service injection: Publishes the vectorMemory service for other plugins to call.
  5. Memory view: Registers a “Memory” view tab on the client side (tab order 30, positioned to the right of chat/trajectory/observation) and displays saved/retrieved items for the current session in real time.

Installation and Activation

Add the plugin to profile.bundles in the DSH configuration file. Note that this configuration publishes the vectorMemory service, which must exist in the host composition (i.e., as a process-level global service).

  "profile": {
    "bundles": ["@bryan-cmf/dsh-vector-memory"]
  }
}

Usage

  1. Plugin invocation: Other plugins can directly call the save, search, or health methods by injecting the vectorMemory service.
  2. UI display: On the client side, register the “Memory” view tab (order 30) to display the memory list to the right of the chat, trajectory, or observation panel.

Notes

  1. Version requirement: The DSH version must meet >= 0.1.0-rc.6, and both tools and storageDomain service support are required.
  2. Merge notice: This suite was merged into @bryan-cmf/dsh-insights on 2026-08-17. This GitHub repository is retained only as a pre-merge historical record. Please follow dsh-insights for future iterations.
  3. Service lifecycle: Because the vectorMemory service is published in the host composition, it must be loaded when the process starts rather than attached to a specific Agent preset (unless an isolate domain is used for isolation).

Ecosystem Context

This plugin is listed in the community directory, has no affiliation with DeepSeek or High-Flyer official, and is provided for developer reference only.
