Introduction

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness is “everything is a plugin.” During development or debugging, agent skills are often scattered across a project’s .dsh directory, .agents directory, user directory, or runtime configuration. Without a unified entry point for browsing and retrieval, locating the full SKILL.md content for a skill or its scope can become cumbersome.

What It Is

dsh-skills-manager is a DeepSeek Harness client plugin. It reads the host ctx.skills registry and adds a “Skill Management” view to the settings page. The view directly displays the full set of merged agent skill information in the current environment, without relying on a manually maintained list.

Core Features

This plugin provides the following capabilities:

  1. Skill directory overview: Lists all skills merged in the current environment, including name, description, source (project/user/built-in/runtime), provider, invocation policy, and scope.
  2. Search and filter: Supports real-time search by name, description, or applicable scenarios; supports filtering by “All / Model Available / User Available”.
  3. Details viewing: After clicking a skill, the details panel expands below the card, showing whenToUse, file path, resource directory, metadata, and the full SKILL.md content.
  4. One-click copy: Provides buttons to copy the skill content or local path with one click.
  5. Auto refresh: Polls skill status every 30 seconds, and also supports manual refresh. When a skill source is found to be incomplete, a prompt is displayed.
  6. Theme adaptation: Supports light/dark theme adaptation using native DSH styles.

Installation and Enabling

Install the plugin from the command line:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:zhangzheng25/dsh-skills-manager

After installation is complete, restart DSH and open Settings → Skill Management to view the page.

Typical Usage

  1. Enter a keyword in the skill list to search.
  2. Use the filter to view specific types of skills.
  3. Click a skill card to expand the details panel below and read the SKILL.md content.
  4. Click the copy button to copy the skill content or path to the clipboard.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin currently serves only as a read-only management interface.

  • Permission limitations: In the current version, existing skills cannot be enabled, disabled, or edited through this plugin. The DSH skill registry is owned by each provider (mainly dsh-skill-filesystem), and the registry itself does not provide the ability to delete or disable existing skills.
  • Icon limitations: The settings page navigation icons are hardcoded by dsh-client-ui-settings-general; non-built-in IDs uniformly display a gear icon.
  • Development recommendation: Before installing, it is recommended to review the source code and license.
