DeepSeek Harness (DSH) follows the core philosophy of “everything is a plugin.” In the DSH web interface, when switching models via the model selector, polishing or adjusting the style of the current draft is a common need. The dsh-input-polish plugin enables this capability by adding an interactive entry point on the right side of the interface.
What It Is¶
dsh-input-polish is a dual-side DSH plugin maintained by llyyhh0487. It mainly solves the problem of being unable to quickly rewrite or stylistically adjust the current input in the DSH Composer.
Core Features¶
- One-Click Polish Button: Adds a Sparkles icon button at the far right of the Composer toolbar (to the left of the model selector). After clicking the button, the plugin calls the currently selected model to rewrite the draft and fills the result back into the input box.
- Style and Detail Settings: Adds a new “Input Optimization” section in the Settings panel. Users can configure:
- Style: Concise / Detailed / Formal / Casual
- Detail: 3 points / 5 points / expanded
- Persistent Settings: The style and detail settings are saved through DSH’s
settingsservice and remain effective after restarting the application. - Failure Handling: The plugin includes built-in status indicators. While processing, a Spinner (loading circle) is displayed; on failure, an Alert icon is displayed, and retry is available by clicking it.
Installation and Enablement¶
This plugin is a dual-side plugin, containing a Host side and a Client side, which must be built separately.
- Build the plugin
npm install
npm run build
The build process generates `lib/index.js` (Host side, Cordis plugin) and `lib/client.js` (Client side, browser bundle).
- Install into a Profile
Install it using the DSH CLI:
dsh plugin --profile web add ../dsh-input-polish
Or manually add `dsh-input-polish` to the `bundles` configuration in `dsh.profile`.
- Restart DSH
After restarting the application, a Sparkles button appears on the right side of the Composer row, and an “Input Optimization” option appears in the Settings panel.
Typical Usage¶
- Click the Sparkles icon at the far right of the Composer toolbar to use the currently selected model to rewrite the content in the input box.
- Go to the Settings page, set your preferred style (for example, “Formal”) and output structure (for example, “3 points”) in the “Input Optimization” section, and then replies generated by clicking the Sparkles button will follow these settings.
Environment and Development¶
- Node.js version: Requires
>= 22.6.0. - Development dependencies: Requires
@deepseek-ai/cordis,@deepseek-ai/schemastery, andreact. - Build script:
npm run buildinvokestscfor Host-side compilation and usesesbuildto bundle the Client side.
Summary¶
dsh-input-polish provides DSH users with a lightweight input optimization solution. By integrating a polish button and persistent settings in the interface, it reduces the steps required for manually modifying prompts. If you are using DSH for text-processing workflows, this plugin can directly improve editing efficiency. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
