In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) web panel, developers frequently need to stage code, handle merge conflicts, and write commit messages. Existing web interfaces often lack direct Git operation capabilities, while switching to a terminal can interrupt the workflow. The dsh-git-panel plugin developed by DashingMonkey aims to embed Git workspace management directly into DSH Web.

This is a DeepSeek Harness (DSH) web plugin developed by DashingMonkey, namely the Git workspace panel for DSH Web. It addresses the problems of managing multiple repositories, staging code changes, and handling merge conflicts in a web environment, and uses an LLM to generate commit messages according to configured rules.

Core Features

  1. Repository Discovery: Automatically discovers Git repositories in the current workspace (including nested repositories and worktrees).
  2. Change Management: Files are grouped by Staged, Changes, and Untracked. Hover over a file row to stage or unstage it.
  3. Conflict Handling: Merge conflicts are grouped separately and support marking as resolved, completing the merge, or aborting the merge.
  4. Image Diff Preview: Supports diff drawer image previews for image formats such as png/jpg/gif/webp. Click to view in full screen.
  5. AI Commit: The LLM generates commit messages based on configurable rules (YAML rules).
  6. History Graph: Git history graph (SVG lane layout).
  7. Basic Operations: Supports Pull / branch / push / Stash / Reset / Clean.
  8. Audit Log: Write operations include audit logs.

Installation and Activation

Prerequisites: Ensure npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web runs properly and that the system PATH includes the git command. Windows is recommended (other platforms will automatically fall back).

  1. Clone the repository and build it:
    git clone https://github.com/DashingMonkey/dsh-git-panel.git
    cd dsh-git-panel
    npm run build
  1. Install it through the DSH command line:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add .
After installation is complete, restart DSH Web. A Git Panel button will appear at the bottom of the sidebar.

Typical Usage

After restarting dsh web, a Git Panel button appears at the bottom of the sidebar. The panel automatically follows the current workspace to discover repositories; the commit area at the top supports generating a commit message based on the active rules (it only fills the field and does not commit).

  1. View Changes: In the panel, you can see file groups for Staged, Changes, and Untracked. Hover over a file row to quickly stage or unstage it.
  2. Image Comparison: Click a file name to expand the read-only diff. If the file is an image, the diff window displays the old and new versions side by side, with support for full-screen viewing and pixel size display.
  3. Generate Commit: In the commit area at the top, enter a short description or leave it blank. The system calls the LLM according to the active YAML rules to generate a commit message, which is filled into the input field but not committed immediately.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for developers who need to perform Git operations directly in a web environment and rely on LLM assistance to generate commit messages.

Notes: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. You should check the source code and license before installing it. The plugin introduces no new npm dependencies and provides a Chinese-English bilingual UI.

By integrating Git operations into DSH Web, the plugin achieves closed-loop management from code changes to commits. For related documentation and source code, refer to GitHub.
