Introduction¶
In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web interface, tool row titles (Read / Write / Bash / Pwsh…), the thinking collapse title (Think), trace panel labels, and the sidebar brand name are hardcoded in the lib/client.js module. Directly modifying files inside node_modules will be overwritten when DSH is upgraded, causing the Chinese labels to stop working. The dsh-zh-labels plugin solves this problem by automatically reapplying the patch every time DSH starts.
What is dsh-zh-labels¶
A Chinese-label persistence plugin for the DSH interface. Author: Xingkong42. When the plugin starts, it scans the deployed installed client module files and replaces known English labels with Chinese. After an upgrade overwrites the files, the labels are automatically restored on the next start.
Core Features¶
- Automatic patching on startup: Once mounted, it runs automatically every time DSH starts and restores automatically after upgrades.
- 316 replacement rules: Covers tool titles, thinking titles, all trace panel labels, the sidebar, skill rows, and more.
- Multiple deployment root detection: Automatically scans the three DSH install locations: npm global, profile shared, and profile web.
- Idempotent and safe: Skips files that already contain Chinese; repeated runs have no side effects.
- Fault tolerant: A failure in one rule does not affect the others; if the string changes after an upgrade, that rule is automatically skipped.
- UTF-8 safe: Reads and writes preserve BOM-less UTF-8 and do not corrupt the source file encoding.
Installation and Enablement¶
- Use the DSH plugin installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Xingkong42/dsh-zh-labels
- After installation, restart DSH and open the Web interface in a browser (a hard refresh with Ctrl+F5 is recommended) to see the Chinese labels.
Typical Usage¶
Verify whether the Chinese labels are active via the HTTP interface:
curl -s http://127.0.0.1:3080/plugins/@deepseek-ai%2Fdsh-client-ui-tool/client.js | grep -c "搜索"
A non-zero return value means the patch is active.
Notes¶
- Directly modifying files inside
node_moduleswill be overwritten when DSH is upgraded, causing the Chinese labels to stop working. - If some labels stop working after upgrading DSH, it means the corresponding English strings have changed structurally in that version. Update the
PATCHESrule table inlib/index.jsand restart DSH; the rule table is designed to be fault tolerant, unmatched rules are automatically skipped, and this does not affect other labels. - The plugin runs with the permissions of the current dsh process. Check the source code and license before installing.
Conclusion¶
This plugin provides an automated label patching solution, suitable for DSH users who need to use a Chinese interface long-term and stably. The source code and directory pages are as follows:
