Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a platform for building agents. In long-conversation scenarios, facing dozens of Prompt-Response pairs and tool execution outputs, simply scrolling through the log to locate a specific turn is very inefficient. The official DSH Web UI lacks session thumbnails or a quick navigation outline.

dsh-session-navigator adds a full-height session navigation rail and a scale map to the DSH Web UI. By adding a navigation rail along the right edge of the chat stream, it solves the difficulty of locating content in long conversations while keeping the interface clean.

Plugin Positioning

This is a client-side plugin for DeepSeek Harness that provides session navigation and a turn scale map. It is maintained by developer wuxiangru915.

The core value of this plugin is:
* Zero invasion: No modification of official core packages is required; it is mounted through the official shell.overlay slot.
* Visualization: It transforms long conversation streams into a visible vertical scale.
* Enhanced interaction: It provides hover previews, smooth jumping, and a unified scrollbar.

Core Features

The plugin includes the following capabilities:

  1. Full-height minimal navigation rail
Provides a 1px-wide vertical navigation rail along the right edge of the conversation stream, with no additional pill-style decoration, fully blending into the UI.
  2. Proportional scale marks
Automatically generates proportional scale marks based on the physical height of each user turn inside the scrolling container.
  3. Current turn indicator
Displays a vertically aligned highlighted pill for the current viewport, with smooth following implemented through ScrollSpy.
  4. Unified draggable scrollbar
Provides a draggable unified scrollbar for scrolling the conversation directly on the navigation rail, avoiding the appearance of duplicate native scrollbars.
  5. Hover preview card
When hovering over a scale mark, displays a preview card. The card includes:
    • Turn number, such as #2 Prompt.
    • A 3-line truncated Prompt summary.
    • Quick action buttons: Export Markdown, one-click text copy, and previous turn / next turn navigation.
  6. Smooth jumping and pulse
After clicking a mark or a card, the view smoothly scrolls to the target message, accompanied by a highlight pulse animation.

Installation and Enablement

Installing this plugin requires DeepSeek Harness >= 0.1.0-rc.5 (Cordis 4.x) and Node.js >= 22.

Install it using the official command-line tool:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:wuxiangru915/dsh-session-navigator

After installation, restart the Web server and refresh the page for it to take effect. During local development, you can install directly using the local path:

dsh plugin --profile web add /path/to/dsh-session-navigator

The plugin is a pure Bundle plugin, and no build step is required during installation.

Typical Usage

After opening any session in DSH Web:

  1. View the navigation rail
A vertical navigation rail appears on the right side of the chat stream, with one scale mark corresponding to each user turn.
  2. Hover preview
Hover the mouse over a scale mark to display a floating preview card, showing the turn summary and status.
  3. Quick jump
Click the mark or the preview card, and the view smoothly scrolls to the corresponding message bubble.
  4. Actions and scrolling
Click buttons in the preview card to export Markdown or copy text; drag the scrollbar on the navigation rail to scroll through the conversation content.

Notes

  • Version requirement: You must use DeepSeek Harness >= 0.1.0-rc.5 and ensure that the Cordis version is 4.x.
  • Runtime permissions: The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions; it is recommended to check the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
  • Architecture: The plugin is mounted through the dsh.bundle patch layer and does not involve modifying official packages.

Conclusion

dsh-session-navigator significantly improves the efficiency of long-conversation scenarios by providing an intuitive navigation rail and interactive previews. For developers who frequently need to locate Prompt or Response content among a large number of turns, this plugin can reduce the operational cost of manual scrolling.
