Foreword¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a pluggable architecture, allowing capabilities to be extended during a session. In agent development, managing environment variables often requires external scripts or manual parsing. The dsh-dotenv plugin is designed to solve this problem by providing a local solution for directly handling .env files within the DSH environment.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-dotenv is a tool plugin focused on environment variable handling, maintained by developer uckkk. It does not rely on any external network services or third-party APIs; all parsing logic is executed locally using Node.js.
Core Features¶
- Pure Node.js implementation.
- No network access or external services required.
.envparsing and serialization.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the official installation command to add the plugin to the environment:
dsh plugin add dsh-dotenv
After installation, add "dsh-dotenv" to the dsh.profile.bundles field in the profile’s package.json file to complete the enablement configuration.
Typical Usage¶
After installing and enabling the plugin, you can use the tools registered by the plugin by invoking them within a DSH session.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for scenarios that require frequent reading and writing of environment variables in local sessions. Since installing a plugin runs third-party code on your local machine, please review its source code before installation to ensure it meets your security and compliance requirements.
Summary¶
dsh-dotenv provides lightweight .env handling capabilities, making it suitable for configuration management requirements that prioritize localization and minimal dependencies. For more details, refer to the plugin directory or the GitHub repository.
