DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture and extends functionality through plugins. During development, as the number of sessions grows, archiving, moving, restoring, and viewing session details become cumbersome. dsh-sessions-manager is a client plugin maintained by TOBYCAI that provides a unified session management panel and enhances the homepage sidebar, addressing the pain point of fragmented session management.

The plugin provides a unified view panel, cross-workspace drag-and-drop, batch operations, lineage viewing, and storage usage analysis.

Core Features

Unified Panel and Filtering

The plugin provides a unified session management panel under “Settings → Session Management.” At the top, it offers three permanent views: All / Active / Archived, while less frequently used views — Favorited / Blank / Trash — slide out horizontally via an arrow button. It supports searching by title, session ID, or workspace, and filtering by workspace as well as sorting by creation time or title.

Workspace and Tag Management

  • Workspace filtering: Supports filtering and sorting by workspace.
  • Tag management: Supports adding tags to sessions (no more than 200 global tags and no more than 10 tags per session) and filtering by tag. The tag index follows the local DSH data directory rather than the account.
  • Filter presets: You can save a combination of view + workspace + sort + tags as a filter preset (up to 20 presets) and apply it with one click.

In the homepage sidebar, the plugin provides the following enhancements:
- Cross-workspace drag-and-drop: Drag a session directly to a target workspace title to move it to that workspace.
- Status dots: A status dot is displayed on the left side of each session (unread/working/awaiting feedback/completed/error), with colors read directly from DSH native status.
- Quick menu: Use the ⋯ menu to quickly perform actions such as “mark unread/read,” “move session,” or “delete session.”

Session Details and Lineage

Click a session row to view details, including disk usage, turn/step/message/tool-call statistics, an image attachment list, and a write/edit file list.
- Lineage view: Provides two views: “lineage (collapsed groups)” and “flat.” In lineage view, subagent sessions are collapsed under their parent session (shown as “▸ N subagents”), and branch sessions are shown with a green “⑂ branch” marker.
- Blank sessions: Supports identifying blank sessions (sessions containing only lifecycle metadata) and managing them centrally in the “Blank” view.

Batch Operations and Trash

  • Batch selection: Supports select all and batch archiving, restoring, deleting, or moving selected items. The batch action bar sticks to the top, making it easier to operate long lists.
  • Trash: Deleted sessions are first moved to the trash, where they can be restored or permanently deleted in the settings panel. The trash supports automatic cleanup based on time (7/30/90 days).

Export and Analysis

  • Export: Supports exporting raw session logs (ZIP) and Markdown-format files.
  • Storage usage: Provides storage usage analysis aggregated by workspace and lists the Top 10 sessions with the largest usage.

Installation and Activation

Use the official plugin installation command to install it.

# 安装插件
dsh plugin --profile desktop add "github:TOBYCAI/dsh-sessions-manager"

# 如果使用 Web 端
dsh plugin --profile web add "github:TOBYCAI/dsh-sessions-manager"

After installation, restart DSH or refresh the page to see the plugin under “Settings → Session Management” and in the homepage sidebar.

Typical Usage

  1. Unified management: In “Settings → Session Management,” view all sessions and use the filter bar and presets to quickly locate target sessions.
  2. Move sessions: Drag a session directly to another workspace title in the sidebar, or use the “move selected” function in the batch action bar.
  3. View details: Click any session row to see its disk usage, tool usage distribution, and lineage.
  4. Export content: At the bottom of the details panel, download the Markdown file or raw logs.
  5. Automatic archiving: Configure automatic archiving rules in the maintenance section of the settings panel (for example, inactive for 30/60/90 days) to automatically clean up unneeded sessions.

Notes

  • Tag index: The tag index follows the local DSH data directory. When migrating to another machine, you need to back up the local index.
  • Moving active sessions: For active sessions currently in use under the newer Runtime, the move operation does not fail; instead, it enters a queue. You need to restart DSH for the move to complete automatically.
  • Deletion mechanism: Deleted sessions first go to the trash and are not physically deleted immediately. Permanently deleted sessions cannot be recovered.
  • Lineage display: In the lineage view, if a parent session is archived or deleted, its branch sessions are attached under the “Source” group header.
  • Blank sessions: Blank sessions can only be viewed and cleaned up in the “Blank” view of the settings panel.
  • Compatibility: The plugin is compatible with DSH 0.1.5+ session format v3.

Summary

dsh-sessions-manager provides a complete session management solution—from archiving and moving to detailed analysis—by combining a unified panel and sidebar enhancements. It is suitable for DSH users who need fine-grained management of large numbers of sessions, care about tool usage statistics, and want to optimize their workspace structure.
