Introduction

When developing or testing with DeepSeek Harness, real-time visibility into account balances and spending is essential. The DSH plugin system supports mounting various functional modules in the web UI sidebar. dsh-balance addresses the need to view balances and consumption trends in the browser, allowing data to be retrieved without leaving the current page.

dsh-balance

dsh-balance is a widget plugin mounted in the sidebar of the DeepSeek Harness web version. It retrieves account information through the official API and displays consumption trends as a bar chart. The plugin is maintained by rayzhu1109 and distributed under the MIT License.

Core Features

  • Real-time balance: Reads the total account balance, gifted balance, and top-up balance through the official GET /user/balance API. The data refreshes automatically about every 60 seconds.
  • 5-day consumption trend: Click the balance area in the sidebar to expand a bar chart. The chart estimates consumption based on daily balance changes, starting from the day the plugin is installed and gradually filling in five days of data.
  • No extra configuration: The plugin reuses DeepSeek’s DEEPSEEK_API_KEY credential and shares the same key with the model configuration.
  • Sidebar interaction: When the sidebar is collapsed, only a coin icon is displayed; when expanded, the specific amount is shown.

Installation and Activation

Use the command-line tool provided by DSH to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-balance

After installation, restart the dsh web process and refresh the page in your browser. A balance display appears at the bottom of the sidebar (next to “Settings”).

Usage and Notes

  • Data source: The displayed balance is real-time data from the official API.
  • Chart logic: The bar chart is estimated based on “daily balance differences” and accumulates from midnight on the installation day.
  • API Key configuration: If the balance displays “DEEPSEEK_API_KEY not configured”, configure the key in “Settings → Model”, or set the DEEPSEEK_API_KEY environment variable.

Summary

dsh-balance integrates balance querying with consumption trend charting in the DeepSeek Harness sidebar, making it easy for developers to monitor usage costs. The plugin is simple to install and requires no additional configuration. For more details, visit the GitHub repository or the community directory.
