Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture and is designed to extend the capabilities of agents. When an agent needs to generate images or videos during a conversation, it must register the corresponding tools through a plugin. agnes-media is a plugin designed for this purpose. It registers tools for the Agnes AI media models, enabling agents to perform text-to-image, text-to-video, and image-to-video operations.

Installation

Add the plugin to the web profile configuration using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:LittleBeaverStudio/agnes-media

After installation is complete, restart the DSH server. The generate_image and generate_video tools will then appear in the agent’s tool catalog.

Configuration

The plugin supports configuring the API Key through environment variables or the DSH credentials system.

Environment Variables

  • AGNES_MEDIA_API_KEY: API Key (recommended).
  • AGNES_API_KEY: fallback API Key.
  • AGNES_MEDIA_BASE_URL: custom endpoint. The default is https://apihub.agnes-ai.cn. Overseas users can configure it as https://apihub.agnes-ai.com.

DSH Credentials

Simply add AGNES_MEDIA_API_KEY in the credential management section of the DSH Web UI.

Note: API Keys are bound to regional endpoint generations. Keys issued for China are usually valid on apihub.agnes-ai.cn, while keys issued for overseas use are valid on apihub.agnes-ai.com. If you encounter a 401 error, check whether the endpoint matches the API Key.

Tool Usage

generate_image

Generate images using the agnes-image-2.5-flash model.

Parameters:
- prompt (required): image description.
- size (optional): output size, in the format "WxH", default 1024x1024.
- n (optional): number of images to generate, default 1, maximum 4.

Return Value: an array of public HTTPS URLs.

generate_video

Generate videos using the agnes-video-2.5-flash model.

Parameters:
- prompt (required): video description.
- duration (optional): duration in seconds, range 4–12, default 5.
- aspect_ratio (optional): aspect ratio, such as "16:9", default "16:9".
- size (optional): resolution tier. The Flash model is fixed at 720P.
- reference_image_url (optional): reference image URL. When provided, the mode switches to image-to-video.

Return Value: video URL.

Notes:
- This operation is asynchronous; the plugin polls the status until completion.
- Backoff retries are supported when a 429 rate limit is encountered.
- The negative_prompt parameter is deprecated, but its definition is retained to avoid errors.

Considerations

  1. Resolution: The video model is fixed at 720P.
  2. API Key Binding: API Keys are bound to their regional endpoint generation. Make sure the API Key and the configured BASE_URL match.
  3. DSH Version: Version 0.1.0-rc.7 or later is required.
