In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) workflow, writing documentation, organizing changelogs, and performing code reviews are often repetitive and time-consuming tasks. The docgen plugin provides a documentation workshop skill pack for DSH, including pure prompt-based Agent Skills such as README generation, PR description generation, changelog generation, and code review.
The plugin is maintained by JohnXu22786 and is released under the MIT License. It addresses the need for developers to frequently write or update project documentation, describe code changes, and perform code reviews by providing automation through a standardized Skill interface.
Core Capabilities¶
docgen provides four self-contained skills, all based on the SKILL.md specification:
- README Generation: Generates or rewrites
README.mdfrom a codebase, outputting only evidence-based content. - PR Description Generation: Generates a complete PR description based on code diffs and commit history.
- Changelog Generation: Categorizes, merges, and rewrites Git history to generate a CHANGELOG.
- Code Review: Outputs structured review comments, including a verdict, a severity-ranked issue list, and highlights.
Installation and Activation¶
Install it through the DSH plugin loader:
dsh plugin --profile demo add github:JohnXu22786/docgen
Usage¶
Trigger skills with natural language in the session. The system automatically routes based on the description or whenToUse field. Typical examples include:
- “Write a README for this project”
- “Generate a PR description for the change I just made”
- “Update the changelog from git history and prepare 1.2.0”
- “Help me review this PR”
Skill output is Markdown text and can be saved directly. Style parameters can be appended when invoking, such as length=concise or language=en.
Notes¶
- Zero Dependencies: The plugin has no third-party dependencies and supports offline use.
- Self-Contained: Each skill is a self-contained
SKILL.mdfile. - Source Code Safety: The plugin is open-source code. Please review the source before installation.
- License: Use is subject to the MIT License.
