DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides a web-based editor environment. In the development workflow, quickly confirming the current branch, number of changes, and file status often requires switching to a terminal to run git status. dsh-plugin-git-status integrates this information directly into the editor toolbar and provides a structured git_status tool.
Plugin Introduction¶
This plugin is maintained by jdz321 and is a tool plugin for DeepSeek Harness. It does not create, modify, or delete any files; it is used only to display and retrieve Git status.
Core Features¶
- Editor toolbar status chip: Displays the current branch name, workspace cleanliness status (clean/dirty), and a manual refresh button to the left of the model selector.
- Expandable change list: When the workspace has changes, clicking the change count expands a grouped file list. The list is categorized into conflicts, staged, unstaged, and untracked files, and displays porcelain status codes and the original path before rename.
- Automatic refresh: By default, the status refreshes automatically every 30 seconds.
git_statusmodel tool: Called in the tool pipeline, it returns structured JSON data, including branch, commit, file list, and so on.- Read-only operations: It only reads Git status and does not perform file system writes.
Installation and Enabling¶
Install it using the DSH CLI:
dsh plugin --profile <name> add dsh-plugin-git-status
After installation, restart the DSH process and hard-refresh the page in the browser to load the plugin.
Configuration and Usage¶
Configure Refresh Interval¶
The refresh interval can be modified through the browser interface or a configuration file.
- Browser interface: Open browser settings -> plugins -> edit the Git status card, and modify
refreshIntervalMs. - Configuration file: Add a
configblock tocordis.patch.yml:
- id: dsh-plugin-git-status
name: dsh-plugin-git-status
config:
refreshIntervalMs: 60000
Setting refreshIntervalMs to 0 completely disables automatic refresh.
Invoke the Model Tool¶
You can directly invoke the git_status model tool in the tool pipeline. This tool accepts an optional cwd parameter; if not provided, it checks the current session workspace by default.
Notes¶
- Read-only limitation: The plugin is in read-only mode and does not provide inline file operations.
- Session scope: The panel is displayed only in sessions for workspaces that are Git repositories; it is not displayed in non-repository directories.
- Automatic refresh pause: When the browser tab is hidden, automatic refresh is paused; when the tab becomes visible again, it refreshes immediately once.
- Path handling: It handles paths containing consecutive spaces correctly.
Summary¶
dsh-plugin-git-status provides DSH with a visual Git status panel and a programmatic JSON interface, making it suitable for scenarios that require frequent monitoring of code changes or retrieving Git information within an agent toolchain.
