Introduction¶
In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web agent development workflow, session context usually includes the project path. Opening the local editor or terminal directly from the browser would require additional copy-and-paste steps. dsh-plugin-open-by-hyrinx adds a capsule split button to the Web session header, supporting one-click opening of VS Code, a terminal, or the file explorer in the current workspace.
Core Features¶
- Capsule split button: The left side is the currently selected launcher and executes immediately on click; the right side is a dropdown menu listing all available launchers, and clicking one switches and starts it.
- Built-in launchers: Supports VS Code (PATH configuration required), CMD / PowerShell, and File Explorer.
- Settings management: Supports switching the current item, drag-and-drop reordering, visibility control, and adding/editing custom items. Configuration is automatically persisted.
- Multilingual support: The UI follows the global language of the DSH client and switches automatically.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin using npm:
dsh --profile web plugin add dsh-plugin-open-with
After installation, the DSH Web client will automatically load the plugin, and the capsule button will appear in the session header.
Typical Usage¶
- Add a custom launcher: Open the DSH settings panel, find the Open With -> Custom section, and click “+ Add”.
- Open an application: Click the capsule button or switch between cards on the settings page.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Platform limitation: Only supports Windows 10 / 11.
- Access limitation: Must be accessed from a local browser via loopback (localhost / 127.0.0.1).
- Dependencies: VS Code requires the
codecommand to be added to the system PATH. - Security mechanism: Launch targets are a TypeScript closed union, so invalid values cannot become an executable filename; the workspace path comes from the session snapshot and does not accept external input or URL parameters.
- Icon extraction: Only .exe files are supported, and extraction runs asynchronously in the background.
Closing¶
This plugin encapsulates local program launch logic and connects the Web session with the local development environment, making it suitable for developers who need local debugging in the DSH Web client. Source code and configuration are available at: https://github.com/hyrinx/dsh-plugin-open-with
