Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture, and core configurations (MCP servers, skills, rules, etc.) are usually managed through files or command-line options. For users who frequently adjust configurations or manage sessions, this approach is not intuitive enough. The DSH Web plugin “Basic Features Panel” provides a visual settings interface, allowing users to directly manage MCP servers, skills, rules, and archived sessions in a browser.

This plugin is maintained by developer yxsj245 and adopts a modular feature registry design. Future visual features can be added simply by creating a new feature directory, without modifying the panel skeleton.

Core Features

MCP Servers

The panel groups and displays all MCP servers by scope (user profile / preset). Configuration information is masked (environment variables, request headers, password parameters, and URL passwords are all obfuscated), and only runtime status is displayed (connected, number of tools, enabled/disabled status). Individual servers can be toggled. After writing to the configuration file, the profile is hot-reloaded, and preset configurations take effect in new sessions.

Skills

Skills are grouped and displayed by scope (project-level, custom, user-level, built-in, runtime), with search and filtering support. The description, trigger conditions, metadata, and invocation permissions of a skill can be edited. After saving, they take effect through a filesystem watcher hot refresh. Skills with the same name display the effective version according to registry priority (project-level > custom > user-level > built-in).

Rules

Displays global rules (~/.dsh/AGENTS.md) and project-level rules (AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md / .local along the directory chain from the project root to the current directory). Supports creating new rule files and editing entire files. Changes take effect in subsequent new sessions after saving.

Archived Sessions

Lists all archived sessions, displaying the title, working directory, creation time, log size, and number of events. Status markers include running, loaded, and missing file. Supports restoring sessions from the archived set and deleting sessions (single-row, bulk selection, and select-all options are provided, all of which require secondary confirmation). During deletion, sessions with an Agent status of running cannot be deleted. The confirmation banner warns of the risk of “loaded but idle”.

Installation and Enablement

Install via the official plugin channel:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-basics-panel@<version>

After installation, the “Basic Features Panel” entry will be visible in DSH’s Web settings.

Development and Synchronization

This repository currently uses a file: local dependency mounted to the Web profile. pnpm build only updates the local repository code and does not update the code actually running in DSH. After development is complete, the synchronization command must be executed to copy the build artifacts to DSH’s profile installation copy.

pnpm build
pnpm run sync

After synchronization, you need to restart the DSH process and hard refresh the browser (Ctrl+F5) to load the new client code. Configuration files (such as cordis.patch.yml / LICENSE) take effect without synchronization due to the hard-link mechanism.

Security and Constraints

  • Data Security: Sensitive values are only displayed in masked form and are never returned in plaintext. All write operations use a strict whitelist and an atomic write (temporary file + rename) mechanism.
  • Session Protection: Restoring/deleting archived sessions only accepts IDs within the archived set, and running sessions cannot be deleted.
  • Service Resolution: Optional services (such as workspaceRegistry) must be resolved at the time of invocation. They must not be cached during the apply() stage, otherwise they will result in undefined and cause functionality to fail.

Use Cases

Suitable for users who need to manage DSH configurations through a graphical interface, frequently debug skills and rules, or handle archived sessions. Please verify the source code and license before use. The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process.

Conclusion

This plugin provides a standardized visual configuration entry for the DSH ecosystem, simplifying the management process for MCP servers and skills. For more details and source code, please visit the plugin directory or the GitHub repository.
