Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) allows capabilities to be extended through plugins. In cloud resource management scenarios, developers need to migrate existing command-line tool capabilities to the DSH environment. UCloud Skill for DeepSeek Harness aims to solve this problem by migrating the ucloud-cli skill to DSH 0.1.0-rc.6, enabling models to invoke UCloud resources through the DSH interface.

Plugin Positioning

The plugin is maintained by UCloud and is licensed under the MIT License. Its core purpose is to adapt the ucloud-cli skill to the DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.6 environment and register the complete bundled skill and its references, without implementing additional API clients or command wrappers.

How It Works

The plugin invokes the official CLI through DSH’s Bash tool, rather than calling the API directly. The request flow is as follows:

User request
  -> bundled ucloud-cli skill
  -> DSH Bash tool
  -> official ucloud CLI
  -> UCloud API

Core Features

The skill provides the following capabilities:
* Resource Operations: Supports inspection, creation, update, and deletion of resources.
* Configuration and Deployment: Supports initializing OAuth configuration and deploying applications.
* Command Execution: Supports using product commands and falling back to ucloud api when necessary.

Installation and Prerequisites

Before installation, ensure the environment meets the following conditions:
1. DeepSeek Harness version 0.1.0-rc.6 is installed, with the standard Skill and Bash plugins enabled.
2. Node.js version 22 or later is installed.
3. Official CLI: The ucloud CLI version is 0.3.1 or later and installed in the system PATH.
4. Credentials: The plugin does not read or manage UCloud credentials. Authentication is handled by the official CLI and its Profile/OAuth status.

Install the plugin into the target Profile:

dsh plugin --profile <profile-name> add @ucloud-ai/ucloud-dsh-plugin

Usage

After installation, the Skill can be selected automatically by the model or invoked explicitly through the DSH Skill interface by using ucloud-cli.

Permissions and Cautions

  • Execution Control: The plugin does not add custom execution tools. All command execution is performed through DSH’s existing Bash tool. Therefore, file system, network, and change approval permissions are controlled by the DSH Profile.
  • Production Environments: Because the original skill supports real changes (such as creating billable resources or interrupting services), production Profiles should retain DSH approval prompts and use least-privilege UCloud IAM policies.

Conclusion

The plugin provides a standardized entry point for UCloud resource management in the DSH ecosystem. For agent development that requires integrated cloud resource operations, this solution offers compatibility and security safeguards.
