When developing with DeepSeek Harness (DSH), developers often need to repeatedly enter the same commands, Prompts, or instructions. For example, repeatedly entering a device ID to run Flutter, or restating the same login flow during every acceptance check. The dsh-dev-actions plugin is designed to solve this problem by letting the AI proactively discover and maintain these repetitive operations, turning them into one-click actions in the DSH interface.
Plugin Positioning¶
This is a workflow plugin maintained by skitse. It uses an AI model to convert repeatedly occurring development commands, prompts, and instructions into one-click action buttons in DSH. The plugin does not depend on users manually organizing shortcuts, nor does it require users to explicitly remind the AI to create buttons; instead, it automatically discovers, updates, deduplicates, and maintains these entry points during the development process.
Core Features¶
The plugin has the following core capabilities:
- AI Automatic Discovery and Maintenance: The AI automatically identifies repetitive patterns during development, determines whether they are likely to be used again, and automatically generates or updates quick actions.
- Three Action Types:
- Command Buttons: Support running commands, viewing logs, and stopping commands.
- Prompt Buttons: Sent directly to the AI as user messages.
- AI Instruction Buttons: Inserted into an editable input box, where users can review or modify them before sending.
- Scope Control: Supports two scopes: workspace and session.
- Dependency Requirement: Requires the
dsh-better-sidebar@^0.10.3plugin to be installed.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installing, make sure your environment meets the following requirements:
- Node.js 22.19+ or 24+
- DSH CLI installed
dsh-better-sidebar@^0.10.3installed
Run the following command to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-better-sidebar@^0.10.3 https://github.com/skitse/dsh-dev-actions/releases/latest/download/dsh-dev-actions.tgz
After installation, restart dsh web and refresh the browser to use it.
Typical Usage¶
This plugin is suitable for a variety of development scenarios and captures repeatedly occurring acceptance steps and collaboration instructions:
- Flutter / Mobile: One-click run, hot reload, and testing.
- Web Development: Start the dev server, run E2E tests, and open recurring acceptance Prompts.
- Backend Development: Start services, run migration checks, view logs, and execute focused tests.
- Xcode / Native Development: Save project-specific fixed build, test, and simulator commands.
Notes¶
- Not a Remote IDE: The plugin is not a remote IDE and is not responsible for device screen streaming or GUI automation.
- Execution Control: The action content and reuse rationale are always fully visible; execution or sending must be triggered by a user click.
- Version Compatibility: The plugin version is fixed to be compatible with the DSH RC range.
Conclusion¶
dsh-dev-actions replaces manual shortcut organization with proactive AI memory, helping developers reduce repetitive operations and improve development efficiency. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
