Preface¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a plugin-based agent development platform. Although the default interface style is stable, it lacks customization options for developers who want a personalized workspace. The dsh-frosted-window plugin provides a solution: upload a local image and turn it into a full-window frosted glass effect, while keeping the official Light / Dark / System theme control intact.
Plugin Overview¶
This is a Web client theme plugin. It is maintained by SenryLee. Its core function is to use a user-uploaded image as the wallpaper and overlay a unified frosted glass effect on the sidebar, conversation area, and detail page. The plugin does not rely on remote URLs to fetch images, and all data is stored locally.
Installation and Activation¶
Before installing, ensure that dsh web is running (default profile named web) and that pnpm is available in your system PATH.
Install it using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:SenryLee/dsh-frosted-window
After installation, you must restart dsh web for the changes to take effect (a simple page refresh is not enough).
Typical Usage¶
- Open Settings at the bottom left.
- Find the Frosted panel (located under General, below Appearance).
- Enable the theme.
- Upload a local image (supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF; no file size limit).
- Adjust the sliders: glass density, blur level, saturation, and wallpaper dimming.
- Click Save. On the next startup, that area will display Saved, indicating that the setting has been persisted.
- Replace: select another image and click Save again.
- Clear: click Delete to restore the official appearance.
Core Features¶
- Local image support: Supports local JPEG / PNG / WebP / GIF uploads with no file size limit.
- Full-window coverage: Provides a full-window wallpaper and applies a unified frosted glass layer to the sidebar, conversation, and detail areas.
- Parameter adjustment: Provides four sliders for glass density, blur, saturation, and wallpaper dimming.
- State management: Supports preview, persistent saving, image replacement, and configuration deletion.
- Appearance toggle: Provides a green (on) / gray (off) switch; turning it off restores the official appearance.
- Non-invasive design: Only uses
overrideTokensto override styles and never callssetTheme('custom'), so it does not break the official theme logic.
Technical Details and Notes¶
- Data storage: Images are stored in IndexedDB, and setting parameters are stored in
localStorage. - Configuration path: It does not modify
$DSH_HOME/settings.yaml, nor does it fetch resources from URLs. - Plugin identification: In the Plugins list in Settings, the plugin’s technical name is
frosted-windowordsh-frosted-window. - License: MIT.
