In the usage scenarios of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), agents often require user intervention to confirm sensitive operations while executing tasks. The traditional approach usually involves developers staying in front of their computers and waiting for approvals, which consumes development time. DSH Live is designed to address this pain point. It is a mobile approval companion plugin that allows developers to approve operations, track progress, and view results from an iPhone or Android phone.
This client plugin is maintained by zhoushuoshi-code and is released under the MIT license. Its core value lies in extending the approval workflow from the desktop to mobile devices, enabling “your agent will reach out to you when it needs you.”
Core Features¶
DSH Live currently provides the following core capabilities:
- Secure Pairing: Pair using a one-time QR code to establish an encrypted channel.
- Approval Inbox: View pending requests on your phone, with “Allow once” or “Deny” options.
- Desktop Coexistence: The desktop and mobile client can process approvals at the same time. The first valid decision takes precedence, and desktop permissions remain fully preserved.
- End-to-End Encryption: All payloads are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The hosted relay service cannot read the actual content.
- Self-Hosted PWA: Can be deployed with Docker, providing a mobile UI and WSS relay service.
- Fail-Closed Behavior: If the connection drops, a request expires, or the data format is invalid, the system never approves operations by default.
Installation and Enablement¶
The current version is v0.1.0-preview.1, which is in preview status. Before installing, make sure your environment meets the dependency requirements: DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.7, and Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0.
Use the official installation command to add the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:zhoushuoshi-code/dsh-live#v0.1.0-preview.1
After installation, start the DSH Web service to load the plugin configuration.
Typical Usage¶
This is a typical mobile approval workflow:
- Start a DeepSeek Harness task on your computer.
- Scan the DSH Live pairing QR code displayed on your computer screen with your phone.
- Keep the PWA app open on your phone while the agent works in the background.
- When the agent needs approval, your phone receives the request.
- Review the request details, long-press “Allow once” to approve the operation, or tap “Deny”.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Applicable Scenarios: Suitable for developers who need to handle agent approvals in mobile situations, such as while commuting or between meetings.
- Version Status: It is currently only
v0.1.0_preview. No public Relay service or npm package has been released yet. Installing from source by pinning a Git tag is recommended. - Feature Boundaries: It is not a remote terminal, nor a mini IDE. The current preview version does not include background push notifications, Live Activity, voice, photo capture, result delivery, terminal emulation, a code editor, or Git operations.
- Permission Model: The desktop remains authoritative at all times. Disconnections on the phone or Relay do not affect desktop approval permissions. The mobile client only supports “Allow once” and cannot create permanent approval rules.
Summary¶
DSH Live moves the agent approval process off the desktop and allows decisions to be completed on a phone through an encrypted channel. With its fail-closed security model and desktop coexistence mechanism, it provides a flexible interaction method for long-running agent tasks while maintaining security.
