When developing with DeepSeek Harness (DSH), using the llmtrim compression tool can significantly reduce token consumption. To gain a clearer view of real-time savings, developers often need to check status in the CLI or an external tool. llmtrim-stats-plugin integrates this data directly into the DSH web interface, providing a settings-page dashboard and a carousel stats bar below the input box.

It is an open-source client-side plugin maintained by Zenjibad under the MIT License. It acts as a front-end extension for DSH, responsible for pulling data from the llmtrim back end and rendering it in the browser.

Core Features

  • Settings-page dashboard: Includes KPI cards (Paid, Original Cost, Saved Today, Saved This Week) and a stats table grouped by model. It also displays a daemon health status badge.
  • Input box carousel bar: Provides a configurable stats bar below the chat input box, supporting both “Carousel” and “Static” modes.
  • Data source: Read-only operations; it directly invokes the llmtrim status -- command and does not parse ledger files, ensuring consistency with CLI results.
  • Theme adaptation: Automatically follows DSH’s light/dark themes.
  • Persistence: Installed as a Profile Bundle and automatically loaded after DSH is restarted.

Install and Enable

Use the dsh plugin command to install the plugin. After installation, you must restart DSH and hard-refresh the browser to see the new interface.

dsh plugin --profile web add github:Zenjibad/llmtrim-stats-plugin

Typical Usage

  1. After installation is complete, restart the DSH process.
  2. Open the DSH web interface in your browser and press Ctrl+F5 to hard-refresh the page.
  3. Go to the Settings page, choose Carousel mode (the default) or Static mode in the llmtrim Stats settings, and select the metrics you want to display.
  4. The stats bar will appear below the chat input box; view the detailed dashboard on the settings page.

Notes

  • Permissions and data: The plugin only reads the llmtrim status output; it does not modify its directory or ledger files.
  • Environment dependency: Make sure llmtrim is installed locally and added to the system PATH. When the daemon is running, the data is updated in real time; when it is not running, the plugin remains visible but values show as 0 or the status shows as stopped.
  • Browser refresh: After installing or updating the client-side plugin, you must hard-refresh the browser page because the hot module replacement (HMR) mechanism will not automatically load the new Bundle.

Summary

This plugin solves the challenge of real-time monitoring of compression savings in DSH through lightweight integration. The source code and documentation are hosted on GitHub.
