Introduction¶
The DSH ecosystem is plugin-based. Managing locally installed DSH distributions, the @deepseek-ai npm package, and plugins installed from GitHub usually requires manual checks and process restarts. When updating GitHub dependencies, network restrictions or supply-chain build policies can prevent automatic installation.
dsh-update-checker is a DSH client plugin. It detects updates for local DSH / npm packages and GitHub source plugins, provides a detailed table under Settings -> Update Detection, and supports one-click updates with explicit build authorization.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin using the official command.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:ymh0000123/dsh-update-checker
After installation, restart dsh web. You can then use it by opening Settings -> Update Detection.
Core Features¶
- Dual-source detection: Detects updates for DSH /
@deepseek-ainpm packages and GitHub source plugins. The settings page provides a detailed table with filtering and search support. - One-click updates and authorization: Supports one-click updates with explicit build authorization. The plugin parses and categorizes pnpm errors, distinguishing noise from the root cause (such as supply-chain policy blocks or network issues).
- Background tasks: Checks and updates run as background tasks without blocking requests. Tasks continue after leaving the page, and you can review progress and results after returning.
- Network fault tolerance: When network access is restricted, it prioritizes
git ls-remoteand automatically falls back to the GitHub API on failure. - Model tools: Provides the model tool
dsh_check_updates, allowing you to ask the Agent in a conversation to check for updates.
Typical Usage¶
- Restart
dsh weband open Settings -> Update Detection. - Search for a specific package, or use the stat cards to filter updatable items.
- Click the “Update” button. If third-party build scripts are involved, confirm authorization before execution.
- Alternatively, simply say “Check for updates” in a conversation.
Notes¶
- Environment requirement: Node.js ≥ 18 is required.
- Dependency requirement: The one-click update feature requires
pnpm. - Restart requirement: Changes to the host half (
index.js) require restartingdsh webto take effect, while changes to the browser half (client.js) only require refreshing the page.
Conclusion¶
This plugin addresses the fragmentation of dependency management in DSH development environments and provides a centralized entry point for detecting and applying updates. For more details and source code, refer to the plugin catalog page or the GitHub repository.
