Introduction¶
When DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web GUI processes complex tasks, the same turn often contains multiple consecutive tool calls or overly long user input. This makes the chat stream verbose and can distract attention from the current running state. The dsh-fold plugin, implemented with native Slots and React, collapses consecutive tool calls within the same turn into a single line and limits the display of overly long user input, providing a more compact, Codex-like interactive experience.
Plugin Overview¶
- Name: dsh-fold
- Maintainer: Yancey2023
- Category: Client-side plugin
- Core value: Collapse consecutive tool calls, display running status in real time, limit long input display, and automatically load older history.
Core Features¶
1. Consecutive Tool Call Folding¶
Consecutive tool-call nodes within the same assistant turn are merged into a single-line display. The collapsed status bar displays:
* Running tag: The name of the tool currently being executed.
* Call count: The number of completed calls in the group plus the number of calls currently running.
* Expand/Collapse: Click the arrow to expand and view all detailed cards.
2. Diagnostic Information Retention¶
To preserve the readability of debugging information, the following diagnostic details are not collapsed:
* model-retry (model retry)
* turn-error (current turn failed)
* turn-max-tokens (output limit reached)
These details are always rendered in the official view and are not grouped.
3. User Input Folding¶
When user input exceeds 3 lines, the input bubble is limited to 3 lines, with an Expand button displayed at the bottom to view the full content. The collapsed height is precisely set to 72px (3 × 24px), ensuring cross-browser consistency.
4. Automatic Loading of Older Records¶
When the user scrolls the conversation to the top and there is more historical data, the plugin automatically triggers the loadOlder mechanism. As long as the user remains at the top, history is loaded in pages automatically without manually clicking a button.
5. Technical Implementation¶
The plugin is implemented purely with Slot / React and does not use DOM manipulation (such as display:none, MutationObserver, or querySelector); instead, it reuses the official renderer for rendering.
Installation and Dependencies¶
This plugin depends on DSH version 0.1.5 or 0.1.6, as well as @deepseek-ai/dsh-attachment 0.1.6-alpha.2. The installation command is as follows:
node scripts/install-dsh.cjs
Typical Usage¶
- View running status: While tool calls are in progress, the collapsed bar displays the currently running tool tag and cumulative call count in real time.
- Expand to view details: Click the arrow on the collapsed bar to expand and view all collapsed tool-call cards and detailed outputs.
- Handle long messages: For overly long user input, click the
Expandbutton to expand and read it.
Notes¶
- Version compatibility: Ensure that the DSH version is 0.1.5 or 0.1.6.
- Plugin scope: The plugin only handles tool call folding within a turn and does not include turn-level folding logic (handled by the product’s built-in controller).
- License: No explicit license information has been found at present. Please review the source code yourself before installation.
