Preface

The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem emphasizes that everything is a plugin. The standard dsh plugin add command only works for repositories that include dsh.bundle.patch or complete plugin code. For content repositories that only contain SKILL.md, they cannot be activated directly through the plugin layer. dsh-skills-nexus is designed to resolve this gap, turning pure content repositories into usable DSH Skills.

Plugin Introduction

dsh-skills-nexus is a general-purpose DSH Skill adapter. It was developed by maintainer xiaxi626 and is released under the MIT license. After installing it once, you can register any GitHub repository containing SKILL.md with a single command.

Core mechanism:
1. Clone the Skill repository into the ~/.dsh/skills-nexus/repos/ directory.
2. Create a symbolic link in the ~/.dsh/skills/ directory.
3. The official filesystem provider automatically discovers and loads these links, with no need to write Cordis plugin code or package.json.

Core Features

  • Universal adaptation: Supports registering pure SKILL.md content repositories as DSH Skills.
  • Symbolic link management: Automatically handles repository cloning and link creation.
  • Command set: Provides commands such as add, list, update, enable, disable, remove, doctor, and completions.
  • Shell completion: Supports automatic completion for bash, zsh, fish, and PowerShell.

Installation and Activation

The CLI tool is provided via a global npm installation. Please ensure your environment meets the Node.js version requirement.

npm install -g github:xiaxi626/dsh-skills-nexus

After installation, you can use the dsh-skills-nexus command in the terminal.

Typical Usage

1. Register a Skill Repository

Register a Skill by GitHub repository name or URL. The repository does not need package.json or cordis.patch.yml.

dsh-skills-nexus add github:owner/repo

2. View Registration Status

List all registered Skills and their status (source repository, commit, subdirectory, etc.).

dsh-skills-nexus list

3. Update and Toggle

Refresh a registered repository, or enable/disable a specific Skill.

# Refresh the repository
dsh-skills-nexus update [name]

# Enable a Skill (default action)
dsh-skills-nexus enable <name>

# Disable a Skill (removes the symbolic link without deleting the cloned files)
dsh-skills-nexus disable <name>

4. Remove a Skill

Delete the cloned files, symbolic link, and deregister the Skill.

dsh-skills-nexus remove <name>

5. Health Check

Run a read-only check on the Nexus status.

dsh-skills-nexus doctor

6. Shell Completion

Load the automatic completion script for the current Shell.

# bash
eval "$(dsh-skills-nexus completions --shell bash)"

# zsh
eval "$(dsh-skills-nexus completions --shell zsh)"

Notes

  1. Node.js version: Node.js >= 20.0.0 is required.
  2. Installation method: The CLI command is provided through npm install -g, not dsh plugin add. The plugin layer registered by dsh plugin add is only used for package installation; command-line CLI discovery is optional.
  3. Directory structure: Symbolic links are located in ~/.dsh/skills/.
  4. Pure content repositories: They work properly without dsh.bundle.patch.

Summary

dsh-skills-nexus simplifies the integration process for content repositories in the DSH ecosystem. It skips the complex plugin packaging steps and directly exposes Skills to the DSH filesystem provider using the symbolic link mechanism. For developers maintaining a large amount of SKILL.md content, this is an efficient unified management tool.
