Preface¶
The plugin-based architecture of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) allows developers to extend its functionality. For developers who need inspiration or want to capture ideas, a visual tool for generating and managing ideas can be useful. dsh-idea-jar provides a floating interface to meet this need.
Plugin Positioning¶
wanghaonan3333-web/dsh-idea-jar is a floating, persistent idea jar for DeepSeek Harness Web. It generates generic ideas using the currently configured default model and saves them as colored origami notes.
Installation¶
Install the plugin using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:wanghaonan3333-web/dsh-idea-jar
After installation, refresh the browser page to load the plugin.
Usage¶
- Click the transparent jar in the bottom-right corner to generate an idea.
- Use the star in the bubble to save the generated idea.
- Use “Swap one” to regenerate, or use “Give me three” to generate three candidates at the same time.
- Use the star button attached to the jar to open the library.
- Edit, copy, optimize, expand, delete, or change the status of each paper card.
- Export or import from the toolbar at the top of the library.
Core Features¶
- Idea Generation and Saving: Generate ideas using the currently configured default model. Supports optional follow-up requests. Up to three candidates can be generated at once.
- Idea Management: Saved ideas appear as colored origami notes. Supports expanding, editing, copying, AI optimization, deletion, status changes, and filtering.
- Next-Step Breakdown: Expand a saved idea to get an actionable next-step breakdown: goal, first action, and required materials/tools.
- Session Integration: You can copy a saved idea as an actionable prompt and open a new session (disabled by default).
- Data Persistence: Saved ideas are persisted through the
idea-jarnamespace in DSH settings and survive page refreshes and DSH restarts. - Import/Export: Export saved ideas as JSON or Markdown; import JSON or legacy dynamic plugin backups.
Configuration and Considerations¶
- Local Persistence: Persisted settings are limited to a single DSH installation and are not synchronized across devices.
- Permission Dependencies: Clipboard access depends on browser permissions and a trusted local context.
- Target Profile: The plugin provides a UI only for the
webprofile. - Copy Format: Copy writes
category|ideato the system clipboard. - Markdown Limitation: Markdown export is read-only and cannot be imported again.
- Privacy: The plugin does not include telemetry, ads, or third-party analytics.
Conclusion¶
This tool provides a streamlined workflow for generating and organizing creative ideas without leaving DeepSeek Harness Web. The source code is hosted on GitHub.
