When developing or debugging agents in the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web interface, long conversation contexts can make it expensive to manually scroll to locate specific user questions and assistant responses. The dsh-conversation-navigator plugin adds a navigation bar on the left side of the chat interface, enabling quick positioning and previewing of conversation turns.
This is a client-side plugin maintained by wang122818. It adds a turn-based navigation bar to the left side of the DSH Web chat flow, helping developers quickly jump within the conversation history.
Core Features¶
- Navigation Bar Display: Adds a navigation rail to the left side of the chat stream.
- Turn Markers: Each marker corresponds to a user message and the subsequent assistant reply, representing the complete DSH conversation turn boundary.
- Viewport Highlighting: Automatically highlights the marker intersecting the center of the viewport.
- Hover Preview: Hovering over a marker displays the beginning of the corresponding user message.
- Click Navigation: Clicking a marker smoothly scrolls to the corresponding conversation turn.
- Attribute Reading: The plugin reads stable attributes already emitted by the DSH chat stream, including
data-conversation-scroll,data-chat-flow-kind, anddata-chat-anchor-key.
Installation and Enablement¶
Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add D:\dsh-locateHistory
After installation, restart the existing DSH Web process and refresh http://127.0.0.1:3080 in the browser to enable the plugin.
Typical Usage¶
- View the list of conversation turns in the left-side navigation bar.
- Hover over a marker to preview the beginning of the user message for that turn.
- Click the corresponding marker to smoothly scroll the page to that conversation turn.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
This plugin is designed specifically for the DSH Web client.
- Mobile Adaptation: When the viewport width is less than 900px, the navigation bar is automatically hidden to avoid overlapping with the mobile chat layout.
- Incomplete Conversations: For new user messages that have not yet received an assistant reply, the system still displays them as the current open turn.
- Permissions and Security: As a plugin, it runs under the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
Summary¶
dsh-conversation-navigator reduces the cost of locating long conversation contexts by reading DSH built-in stable attributes and injecting navigation interactions. For more technical details and source code, refer to the GitHub repository.
