When working with the DeepSeek Harness Web interface, uploading local images often relies on dragging or pasting. Without a clear interactive entry point, this can reduce operational efficiency. This plugin adds a dedicated upload button next to the input field, reusing the existing image processing path.
This is a pure browser-side plugin intended to add a local image upload entry in the DeepSeek Harness Web GUI input slot conversation.input.left. It is maintained by victorytianyi-dev.
Core Features¶
- Slot Integration: Adds an upload button to the left side of the input field, positioned next to the + / command button.
- Multiple Selection Support: Supports selecting multiple local images. Because the current conversation draft track only supports images, the plugin limits selections to image formats.
- Path Reuse: By synthesizing a
DataTransferobject and triggering adropevent ondocument, it reuses the official draft-image drag path. This means images go through the same validation, size limits, and thumbnail generation process as native dragging before being sent. - Non-invasiveness: No Harness source code modifications are required, and it runs entirely in the browser.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installation, ensure that DeepSeek Harness version is 0.1.0-rc.6+.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:victorytianyi-dev/dsh-upload-button
After installation, restart the process and open any session for it to take effect.
Typical Usage¶
- Install and restart Harness.
- Find the upload button (⬆) on the left side of the chat input box.
- Click the button and select one or more images from local storage.
- Image thumbnails appear in the draft track; enter text and send.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for developers who need to upload images frequently in the Web interface. It relies on the official image receiving logic, so compatibility issues should not be a concern.
In addition, the plugin package includes tools/gen-image.js, a text-to-image helper tool that calls the Alibaba Tongyi Qianwen DashScope native image synthesis API (wanx2.1-t2i-turbo).
Summary¶
This is a lightweight UI enhancement that solves the local image upload entry problem by reusing the official processing path.
