While using DeepSeek Harness Web, tool calls, context, and thinking processes often take up a large amount of vertical space, making it difficult to read the model output. The dsh-process-fold plugin aims to solve this problem by folding execution steps into bordered, compact process boxes, significantly reducing interface space while preserving context integrity.

Core Features

The plugin merges thinking, tool calls, and context into bordered process boxes. Model text separates the boxes. Each time the model outputs a text segment, the box before that text is finalized, and the subsequent thinking process starts in a new box. The model text itself (intermediate output and final answer) always remains outside the boxes, serving as spacing and never entering a box.

When collapsed, each box shows only the latest two items by default. If a box contains hidden items, two stacked lines appear above its top border to indicate that “there is more inside.” Clicking these lines expands only that box, without scrolling. After expansion, the top edge of the box becomes a collapse control. Hovering the mouse over it fades in a smaller stacked-lines icon, and clicking it collapses the box.

Installation and Enablement

Install the plugin by running the following command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:uigdwunm/dsh-process-fold

After running the command, restart the dsh web process and refresh the browser page to take effect.

Interaction Details

  • Toggle mechanism: The plugin works cooperatively with the official “Process Collapse” button. If the official button exists for a given turn (displaying “N tool calls ▾”), it serves as the sole toggle for all boxes in that turn, switching between “latest two items” and “all process.” If the official button does not exist (for example, during streaming output, unloaded history, or standard display mode), the plugin generates an alternative toggle row with a consistent appearance (33px high, with the call count on the left and an arrow on the right).
  • State management: The stacked lines control only the expansion or collapse of their own box, while the toggle row controls the state of all boxes in that turn.
  • Compatibility: The plugin does not read the expansion state of the official button. Instead, it uses CSS to disable the official hidden="until-found" attribute for the items the plugin is interested in, and writes the plugin’s expanded state back to the official button’s data-open / aria-expanded attributes to synchronize arrow direction.
  • Cleanup mechanism: When the plugin is disabled, it automatically removes all injected styles, attributes, tags, and controls, leaving no residual side effects.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for developers who frequently need to view model text and want to keep the interface clean. When using it, ensure that the DSH Web client is running properly, because the plugin relies on officially mounted DOM attributes (such as [data-chat-flow] and [data-turn-process]).

By folding the process into expandable boxes and optimizing the relationship between model text and process display, the plugin helps users keep the interface clean and focused when handling complex agent tasks.
