Introduction¶
In the development of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), agents may sometimes need to query domain name resolution information. Using an external DNS service directly would introduce network dependencies and could raise privacy concerns. The dsh-dns plugin provides a solution for executing DNS queries locally, without relying on external network services.
What Is This¶
dsh-dns is a DSH plugin maintained by uckkk and categorized under networking tools. It is a pure Node.js implementation designed to provide DNS query capabilities through a local process.
Core Features¶
- Pure Node.js implementation with no external network requests.
- Registers a tool in DSH sessions for agents to invoke.
- Executes local DNS queries.
Installation and Enabling¶
Run the following command to install the plugin:
dsh plugin add dsh-dns
After installation, you need to configure dsh.profile.bundles in the profile’s package.json and add "dsh-dns" to it:
{
"dsh.profile.bundles": ["dsh-dns"]
}
Typical Usage¶
After installing and enabling it in the configuration, you can directly call the tool registered by the plugin in a DSH session.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for scenarios where domains need to be resolved quickly locally and external APIs or network requests should be avoided.
Security note: This plugin works by running third-party code on the local machine. Installing it means running third-party code locally, so please review the source code yourself.
