Introduction¶
When developing or debugging with DeepSeek Harness (DSH), it is often necessary to convert byte counts into human-readable formats (such as KB, MB, and GB). Manual calculations are error-prone and may not be intuitive enough for automated scripts. This article introduces a plugin for performing these conversions directly locally.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-byte-size is a byte-size formatting tool maintained by uckkk.
Core value:
It converts an arbitrary number of bytes into human-readable formats such as B, KB, MB, GB, and TB, and supports binary and decimal prefixes. It runs as a pure Node.js module with no network access and no external services.
Installation and Enablement¶
- Install the plugin using the official command:
dsh plugin add dsh-byte-size
- After installation, add the configuration item to the profile’s
package.json:
"dsh.profile.bundles": ["dsh-byte-size"]
Usage¶
After installation, you can directly invoke the tool registered by this plugin within a DSH session.
Notes¶
Installing the plugin runs third-party code on your local machine. Please review the source code yourself.
Summary¶
This tool provides lightweight byte-formatting capabilities and is suitable for integration into DSH workflows. For more information, refer to the community directory or the GitHub repository.
