Introduction¶
When developing agents, it is common to encounter scenarios where country- or region-level basic data—such as capital, population, and currency—needs to be queried. Such data is typically retrieved through external APIs or hard-coded into the prompt. Using the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin mechanism, tools of this kind can be conveniently registered into a session. The dsh-barbados plugin is introduced below.
Plugin Introduction¶
dsh-barbados is a DSH plugin for retrieving basic information about the country of Barbados. It is maintained by user uckkk. It locally returns the capital, population, currency, and continent of the specified country without requiring online lookups.
Core Functionality¶
The plugin registers a tool named country_info. Calling this tool returns the capital of Barbados, its population (in tens of thousands), its currency, and its continent.
Installation and Activation¶
Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin add github:uckkk/dsh-barbados
After installation, the plugin becomes active, and its registered tool can be called directly within the session.
Typical Usage¶
In a DeepSeek Harness session, the tool can be invoked by using its tool name directly. The exact invocation method depends on the interaction protocol of the current DSH version, but the tool name is country_info.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for agent scenarios that need quick access to static geographical and economic data for Barbados.
Notes:
* The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions. Review the source code and license before installation.
* The plugin is implemented purely in Node.js and has no network dependencies.
Summary¶
This plugin addresses country-specific lookup needs using local static data. To view more plugins, see the DSH directory or the source code on GitHub.
