Introduction

DeepSeek Harness Web provides a theme-switching feature, but brief white-screen flickers often occur when refreshing the page or following system settings, and official theme customization capabilities are limited. As a client-side plugin, dsh-client-ui-theme-manager provides a visual theme management solution through persistent style injection and local storage, supporting flicker-free theme switching, background image configuration, and theme import/export.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is maintained by thooy and is licensed under the MIT License. It registers a client entry point via cordis.patch.yml, registers custom themes with the official theme service, and adds a “Dream Skin Theming” option to the settings panel. All theme data is stored locally in the browser and takes effect without restarting dsh.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following features:
* Built-in themes: Provides 10 preset themes, including Caishen Gold, Deep Space Red, Rice Gold White, Polar Night Blue, Bamboo Green, Cherry Blossom Pink, Mint Soda, Amethyst, Lemon Soda, and Graphite Gray.
* Theme management: Supports creating new themes (naming, light/dark appearance, color palette), importing themes (supports .zip format or theme.json file), and exporting the current theme.

* Official theme switching control: Supports pausing/resuming theme switching (with memory retention) and restoring the official appearance.
* Zero flicker: After refreshing or reopening the page, the theme takes effect immediately, and the official light theme does not appear throughout.
* Lightweight self-check: Provides status bar prompts to detect whether the background mount class name has become invalid (which may occur after a dsh upgrade).
* Persistent storage: Theme and background image data are saved in the browser’s localStorage.

Installation and Enablement

There are two installation methods; choose one. Mixing them will result in duplicate entry points.

Method A: Native Plugin Installation

Install it using the dsh plugin management command. This method may briefly flash the official light theme for a moment during loading (approximately 0-8ms).

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-client-ui-theme-manager

After installation is complete, restart dsh web and refresh the page.

Download the latest zip package and run the installation script. This method includes zero-flicker first-frame bootstrapping styles.

  1. Download the latest compressed package from the Release page (such as dsh-client-ui-theme-manager-1.4.0.zip) and extract it to any directory.
  2. In that directory, run the PowerShell script:
    powershell -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -File .\install.ps1
  1. Restart the dsh web process and perform a hard refresh in the browser with Ctrl+F5.

Uninstall

To uninstall, first run the corresponding command based on the installation method:

Restart dsh web and refresh the page.

Usage Instructions

Open Settings → find Dream Skin Theming.
* Switch theme: Click a built-in theme card to switch.
* Import: Click the import button, select a local .zip package or theme.json file, and the plugin will automatically parse and apply it.
* Export: Click the export button to download the current theme.json configuration file (if a background image is included, it will be packaged together).

Notes

  • Installation conflict: The two installation methods cannot be mixed. If Method A is already installed, uninstall it before installing Method B.
  • Data loss: Themes and background images are stored in the browser’s localStorage. Changing browsers, clearing cache, or switching devices will result in data loss. It is recommended to back up regularly using “Export Theme”.
  • Version compatibility: After upgrading DeepSeek Harness, you may need to rerun install.ps1 once to update the bootstrapping styles and plugin copy for the frontend entry point.
