DeepSeek Harness (DSH) stores session data locally. As historical sessions accumulate, cleaning up the log directory and leftover files usually requires manual file-system operations. dsh-sessions-rm is a DSH plugin that solves the problems of viewing and physically deleting historical sessions by adding a dedicated settings page.
Core Features¶
The plugin does not replace DSH’s existing interface; instead, it runs as an additional module:
- Settings → Session Management: Adds a session management entry to the settings page without interfering with the original DSH UI.
- Session list: Lists all sessions, showing their titles, relative times, and running/persisted status badges.
- Type-to-confirm deletion: After clicking delete, a modal dialog appears showing session information and a warning that the action is irreversible. You must manually type “Confirm deletion” before the confirmation button becomes available.
- Physical deletion: Directly deletes the session’s corresponding directory (including logs and session artifacts) via Node.js’s
fsmodule. - Audit trail: Every deletion operation (successful or failed) appends a JSON-formatted log record to
~/.dsh/sessions-rm.log. - Theme-aware: The interface follows the system light mode, dark mode, or auto theme mode.
Installation¶
Install with the command below. It uses pnpm for resolution and integrity verification:
dsh plugin --profile web add git+https://github.com/Temoa/dsh-sessions-rm.git
After installation, the plugin is automatically mounted at the Profile level and takes effect for all sessions.
Typical Usage¶
- Open DSH settings and go to the “Session Management” page.
- Select a historical session in the session list.
- Click the “Delete” button.
- In the dialog that appears, type “Confirm deletion”.
- Click Confirm.
When complete, the corresponding row disappears from the list, the sidebar immediately hides the session, the server-side session directory is physically removed, and a new record is added to ~/.dsh/sessions-rm.log.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Running sessions: Sessions that are currently running cannot be deleted. DSH lacks a public API for destroying active agents, and deleting a runtime directory can cause data corruption.
- Irreversible operation: Deletion is permanent; logs and artifact files are completely removed.
- No configuration required: The plugin is designed to run without configuration; all behavior is fixed in the code logic.
