Introduction

DSH (DeepSeek Harness) uses the Cordis plugin architecture. When teams need to reuse skills across different projects, they often face isolation challenges or cluttered skill management. dsh-plugin-workspace-skill solves both issues: it provides guidance for writing Skills and enables workspace-level skill isolation.

Core Capabilities

This plugin provides two core capabilities:

  1. skill-create skill: Guides the Agent to create, author, review, and validate reusable Skills in the current workspace.
  2. Workspace-level skill isolation: Treats the <workspace>/.dsh/skills/ directory as a skill source visible only to the current workspace.

Installation and Enablement

Official Installation Commands

Install it using DSH’s official plugin management workflow:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-workspace-skill

It can also be installed directly from GitHub:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:Sparrived/dsh-plugin-workspace-skill

Manual Configuration

If you do not use the bundle mechanism, you can add it directly to the host’s cordis.yml or to a customized agent preset configuration:

- id: workspace-skill
  name: dsh-plugin-workspace-skill

Workspace Isolation Mechanism

The plugin is implemented through a ctx.skills provider. Each time skill discovery runs, the process is as follows:

  1. Locate the workspace: Use the caller’s cwd to find the deepest registered workspace that contains it in workspaceRegistry.
  2. Scan the skills directory: Scan .dsh/skills/ under the root directory of that workspace.
    • Supports directory-package layouts: .dsh/skills/<skill-name>/SKILL.md (which may include resources such as references/ and scripts/).
    • Supports single-file layouts: .dsh/skills/<skill-name>.md.
  3. Register candidates: Parse the YAML frontmatter and register them with rank: 700.

Priority rule: Workspace skills take precedence over user-level and built-in sources. When names are identical, the workspace version wins, allowing a project to safely override global skills. When the cwd does not belong to any registered workspace, this provider yields no candidates.

Skill Authoring Guidelines

Directory Structure

Create skills under the workspace’s .dsh/skills/ directory:

<workspace>/
└── .dsh/
    └── skills/
        └── <skill-name>/
            ├── SKILL.md
            ├── references/
            └── scripts/

YAML Frontmatter

Write the YAML frontmatter at the top of SKILL.md:

---
name: <skill-name>
description: ...
whenToUse: ...
disable-model-invocation: false
user-invocable: false
---

Summary

This plugin provides DSH with workspace-level skill management capabilities. Combined with the skill-create skill, it can standardize the local Skill development workflow.
