Introduction¶
In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) environment, adjusting the application’s appearance—especially the background image and frosted glass effect—usually requires modifying the shell configuration or rebuilding. This raises the barrier to use and can easily break the existing structure.
The dsh-wallpaper plugin solves this problem. It does not require entering the shell for editing or rebuilding; you can complete uploads and tuning directly from the Harness Settings page.
What It Is¶
This is a DSH client plugin maintained by SciGeoLight. Its core value is allowing users to upload wallpapers directly from the Harness settings interface and adjust the blur, opacity, and saturation of frosted glass panels in real time. All settings are persisted through the browser’s local storage.
Core Features¶
- Adds a “Wallpaper” page to Settings.
- Supports uploading images in JPEG, PNG, or WebP format as the background.
- Provides three adjustment sliders: Frost (frosted blur), Panel opacity (panel opacity), and Saturation.
- Writes settings to
localStorage, so they remain effective after refreshing the page or restarting Harness.
Install and Enable¶
The plugin ships with its own bundle and is automatically activated after installation. Run the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:SciGeoLight/dsh-wallpaper
After installation, you must fully restart the DSH Web process for it to take effect. Merely refreshing the page with F5 is not enough:
dsh web
Typical Usage¶
- Open Settings at the bottom of the sidebar and click the Wallpaper page.
- Click the upload area, select a local image, and the background changes immediately.
- Drag the Frost / Panel opacity / Saturation sliders, and the frosted panel’s visual effect updates in real time.
- To remove a custom image, click the remove button to restore Harness’s default
/background.jpg. Click “Reset to defaults” to reset all adjustment parameters.
Notes¶
- The plugin runs only as a client and does not modify the shell layer.
- When active, it injects a
<style data-dsh-wallpaper>element into<head>, controlling the background and frosted glass effect by overriding CSS variables. - Settings data is stored under the
dsh.wallpaperkey and applies only to the current browser.
Conclusion¶
If you need to quickly adjust the interface style in DSH Web without diving deep into system configuration, this plugin provides a lightweight entry point.
