Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness is a system that uses a plugin-based architecture as its core, but its default interface is designed around a desktop three-column layout. When opened on smartphones or narrow viewports, this layout can cause navigation confusion, and the official settings panel does not fit mobile operating habits. The dsh-ui-mobile-layout plugin restructures the desktop three-column layout into a single column under narrow viewports through client-side style rearrangement and overlay stacking, and transforms the official settings panel into a two-level navigation interface that follows native mobile conventions. This plugin is maintained by RyzeZhou and is released under the MIT License.
Core Features¶
- Mobile Single-Column Layout: Under narrow viewports, the navigation bar collapses into a left-side drawer, and the chat area occupies the full screen, eliminating the need to jump horizontally between three columns.
- Native Mobile Settings Interface: The settings panel becomes full-screen and presents a two-level navigation structure: “Settings → Entry List → Specific Settings Page”.
- Large Touch Targets: The top back button and list items all have touch areas of 44px or larger, making them suitable for finger operation.
Installation and Enablement¶
Installing this plugin requires manually copying the package to the local instance directory and registering the dependency and bundle in the configuration file. The specific steps are as follows:
- Copy the package to
<profile>/node_modules/dsh-ui-mobile-layout. - Add the following to
dependenciesinprofile/package.json:
"dsh-ui-mobile-layout": "file:./node_modules/dsh-ui-mobile-layout"
- Add
"dsh-ui-mobile-layout"to thedsh.profile.bundlesarray. - Restart the instance and verify HTTP 200 and that the plugin appears in the boot graph.
After installation and restart, it takes effect automatically, without requiring any additional switches.
Usage¶
- Open DSH on a phone (or a narrow viewport in DevTools).
- Left-side drawer: slide it out from the left edge of the screen (or tap the menu button in the upper-left corner).
- Tap the settings entry to enter the full-screen settings list.
- Tap any item to enter its specific settings page (title = item name).
- Use the left arrow to go back: from a detail page return to the list page, and from the list page close settings.
Notes¶
- Dependency Environment: This plugin has been tested and confirmed to be available in environments that include the official base plugins (
shell/ui-settings-general/ui-layout, etc.). - Plugin Conflicts: It may conflict with other plugins that rearrange mobile styles, rewrite or replace the official settings panel, or use full-screen floating overlays with extremely high
z-indexvalues. If conflicts occur, it is recommended to verify them one by one in an isolated instance. - Version Regression: After upgrading DeepSeek Harness, regression testing is required, because if the
nav/content/closestructure of the officialSettingsRootchanges, minor adaptation may be needed. - Runtime Form: The actual runtime form of this plugin is a client bundle plugin (responsibility lies on the browser side), and it does not modify or replace the occupiers of any official slot.
