When developing agents in DeepSeek Harness (DSH), long conversation windows can contain hundreds of lines of replies, tool cards, diffs, and reasoning. This obscures what you actually asked and what the AI did in each turn. dsh-ui-digest adds an “Overview” tab to the session view ring, collapsing the entire conversation into one line per user message.
Features¶
- One line per turn: displays the user message, a one-sentence summary of the AI reply, and action chips; rows are expandable.
- Whole-conversation overview: the summary covers the loaded history window; older messages provide a “Load older messages” button.
- Real-time updates: running turns display “waiting for reply” and settle as text blocks arrive.
- Zero cost: uses heuristic summarization with a pure session snapshot function; no LLM, no persistence, no event family.
- Bilingual support: supports Simplified Chinese and English via the dsh language system.
- Read-only projection: no service, no context merging, no conversation node definitions; follows the official
ui-trajectorypure consumer pattern.
Installation¶
Use the following command to install via the plugin CLI:
dsh plugin add https://github.com/rocklau/dsh-ui-digest/releases/download/v0.1.0/dsh-ui-digest-0.1.0.tgz
Usage¶
- Click a line to expand the full user message and full reply text.
- Summaries are heuristic, deterministic, and purely client-side—no LLM calls, no RPC, zero cost—and update in real time as turns stream.
Notes¶
- Window scope: summaries cover the loaded history window; older messages require “Load older messages”. Compacted sessions display only the compacted surface along with the retained window contents.
- Heuristic summaries only: first-sentence extraction is language-agnostic but relatively simple (for example, an answer beginning with a code block is summarized as the first prose fragment). LLM summarization would require a host-side
turn/endlistener and an event family, which are explicitly out of scope. - No deep links across views: rows are read-only projections; they do not navigate to the chat view for the matching turn.
