Introduction¶
When developing agent applications based on DeepSeek Harness (DSH), frequent copy-and-paste operations can easily lead to loss of historical content or require tracing back to previous text snippets. The dsh-clipboard-history plugin addresses this pain point. It continuously monitors the system clipboard, stores copied content in chronological order in a persistent file, and provides a Web panel and Agent tools for invocation.
Plugin Positioning¶
This plugin belongs to the “memory” category of the DSH ecosystem and is maintained by developer qqyumidi. It is a functionally equivalent dynamic and static plugin. Its core value is transforming the system clipboard into a searchable and manageable structured history log.
Core Features¶
- System clipboard monitoring
Supports macOS (pbpaste/pbcopy), Linux (xclip/wl-paste), and Windows PowerShell. - Persistent storage
History is limited to 500 entries; beyond that, the oldest record is automatically discarded. Data is stored in~/.dsh/clipboard-history. - Web panel operations
Open it via the “📋 Clipboard” button in the session title bar. Supports search filtering, copying a single entry back to the system clipboard, deleting a single entry, pausing/resuming monitoring, and clearing history. - Agent tool registration
Registers four tool interfaces for the model:
-clipboard_get: reads the current clipboard content
-clipboard_history_search: searches history records
-clipboard_copy: writes content to the clipboard
-clipboard_history_delete: deletes historical entries by ID
Installation and Enablement¶
Install via the official command and restart the Web service so the configuration takes effect.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:qqyumidi/dsh-clipboard-history
dsh web
Typical Usage¶
- Web operations: Click the “📋 Clipboard” button on the right side of the session title bar to open the panel, enter keywords in the search box to filter, click an entry to copy it, or click “🗑 Delete” to remove a single entry.
- Agent operations: Directly call the
clipboard_gettool to retrieve the current clipboard content, or useclipboard_history_searchto query history records.
Technical Details¶
- Communication mechanism: The Host and Client communicate through the HTTP endpoints
/clipboard-api/*. - Polling interval: The plugin polls changes to the system clipboard at 1.5-second intervals.
- File structure: The static and dynamic versions are functionally equivalent, and the history file path is
~/.dsh/clipboard-history.
Notes¶
- This plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Please check the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
- The history limit is 500 entries, and older records are automatically discarded.
Conclusion¶
By localizing and structuring the system clipboard, this plugin lowers the barrier to managing text history during agent development. For more details, refer to the GitHub repository.
