Introduction

The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” Although the DSH repository provides generic extension points for input sources, reference presentation, session queries, and pre-step hooks, specific cross-session reference capabilities usually need to be mounted as standalone plugins. dsh-session-reference is a standalone install package that provides DSH with a complete cross-session reference implementation.

Plugin Introduction

dsh-session-reference is a memory-type plugin for DeepSeek Harness, maintained by PUPPET17. The core problem it solves is allowing agents to reference context information from other sessions. The plugin is not mounted by default and must be installed manually.

Core Features

The plugin provides full cross-session reference capabilities, including:

  • Provides an @ menu source for listing current DSH Home sessions.
  • Ranks candidate sessions by priority, with sessions in the same working directory ranked first.
  • Inserts responsive @title capsules through ReferenceInsert and its codecs.
  • Provides a dsh-session: mention serialization protocol for text copying, persistence, and submission.
  • When sending messages, handles current-surface reads, bounded projections, and persisting untrusted recalled context.

Installation and Enablement

Requirements

  • DeepSeek Harness version: 0.1.0-rc.5
  • Node.js version: ^22.19 || >=24

Installation Steps

  1. Build and package the plugin:
    pnpm install
    pnpm run pack:plugin
  1. Install the generated tarball into the Web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-session-reference-0.1.0.tgz
  1. Export the configuration to verify the installation:
    dsh --profile web --dump-config
  1. Start DeepSeek Harness:
    dsh --profile web

Uninstall

dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-session-reference

Configuration Notes

  • Dependency handling: The DSH launcher provides compatible Host and browser services through maintained profile fallbacks. Therefore, package managers treat peerDependencies as optional, because the profile does not install a second copy of these inline packages.
  • Default limits: The default limits are three references per message and 65,536 UTF-8 bytes per reference source.
  • Custom limits: To adjust the limits, override the session-reference configuration item in the profile’s cordis.patch.yml.

Typical Usage

  • Use the @ menu in the input box to select a session and insert an @title capsule.
  • Use the canonical dsh-session: mention serialization for text copying or long-term storage.
  • Adjust the reference count or size limits in cordis.patch.yml.

Use Cases and Notes

  • The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and license before installing.
  • The plugin provides bounded projections and persisted untrusted recalled context, making it suitable for development scenarios that require cross-session context connections.
