Introduction¶
In DeepSeek Harness’s plugin-based architecture, implementing in-session automated scheduled tasks usually requires writing extra scripts or configurations. The dsh-schedule-command plugin provides the ability to create and manage session-local scheduled tasks directly in a conversation via the /schedule slash command, without leaving the chat window to define execution plans.
What Is This¶
dsh-schedule-command is a plugin that provides a human-friendly interface for DeepSeek Harness, maintained by user piaohua. It allows users to define tasks in the current session using natural language, supporting one-time execution (after delay, at absolute time) and recurring execution (every interval). When installing the plugin, the system automatically mounts the @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule runtime to ensure scheduled tasks can be scheduled and executed.
Installation and Enabling¶
Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin from GitHub:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:piaohua/dsh-schedule-command
After installation, restart DSH for the configuration to take effect. During plugin installation, the @deepseek-ai/dsh-schedule runtime is automatically mounted into the profile’s bundle stack, which is the core dependency for triggering scheduled tasks.
Typical Usage¶
Creating Scheduled Tasks¶
The plugin supports natural-language descriptions. Common examples are as follows:
/schedule 30分钟后提醒我喝水
/schedule 每天早上9点生成项目晨报
/schedule 2小时后检查构建状态
/schedule tomorrow 3pm review PR comments
/schedule every 2 hours check disk usage
/schedule 每个工作日上午9:00,为这个项目生成一份简明的晨间简报
Managing Scheduled Tasks¶
Users can use the following commands to view or clean up tasks:
/schedule list # 列出所有活跃定时任务
/schedule delete schedule-1 # 删除指定任务 ID
/schedule clear # 删除所有任务
Notes¶
Session Limitations¶
- Local delivery: Scheduled tasks are triggered on time only while the session remains active. Cold sessions (sessions that have never been active) will not receive any notifications.
- Sleep and catch-up delivery: If the computer enters sleep mode, tasks become
overdueafter resuming. For recurring tasks, the system only delivers the latest occurrence and does not replay accumulated historical records.
Underlying and Parsing Limitations¶
- Cron not supported: The underlying
dsh-schedulev1 only supports fixed intervals (every_seconds) and does not support Cron expressions. Complex calendar rules (such as “every weekday”) fall back to fixed intervals, with the constraints noted in the prompt. - Natural language parsing: Parsing is based on regular-expression matching; if the input expression is too complex, it may fall back to default rules.
Value Summary¶
This plugin lowers the barrier to configuring scheduled tasks in DSH through its slash command and natural-language interface. Together with the ⏰ indicator automatically added to the session title, users can intuitively identify and manage automated workflows within the current session.
