Introduction

The philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” In multi-model collaboration scenarios, switching between models such as Kimi, Grok, Codex, or MiniMax often requires leaving the current environment or handling different prompt contexts. dsh-kernel-mesh encapsulates the kernels of these four models as plugins, enabling seamless switching within DSH and keeping each model in the environment it is most familiar with.

Plugin Scope

This plugin is named dsh-kernel-mesh and is maintained by user oppnc. It is a kernel mesh located on the host plane, primarily addressing the following:
* Model routing: Registers the four models Kimi, Grok, Codex, and MiniMax as L1 kernel routes in DSH.
* Subagent recipes: Provides corresponding L2 subagent types for each kernel (such as kimi-agent, grok-agent, etc.).
* Management tools: Provides tools for viewing kernel status, dispatching tasks, and switching routes.

Core Features

The plugin includes the following core components:
* L1 kernel routes: Supports kimi-kernel, grok-kernel, codex-kernel, and minimax-kernel.
* L2 subagent recipes: Provides recipes such as kimi-agent, grok-agent, and codex-agent.
* Kernel tools: kernel_status, kernel_run, and kernel_switch.
* Agent presets: Provides four preset configurations: codex-kernel, grok-kernel, kimi-kernel, and minimax-kernel.

Installation and Activation

  1. Install the main plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-kernel-mesh
  1. Install the dependent kernel plugins (these are standalone plugins and must be installed by name):
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-kernel-kimi dsh-kernel-grok dsh-kernel-codex dsh-kernel-minimax
  1. Install the agent presets. The official DSH CLI has a preset root directory, but the plugin cannot register them automatically. Manually copy the preset files to the user preset root directory:
dsh_home="${DSH_HOME:-$HOME/.dsh}"
cp -r "$dsh_home/profiles/web/node_modules/dsh-kernel-mesh/presets/." "$dsh_home/.agent-presets/"

Typical Usage

The plugin provides three core commands:
* View kernel status:

kernel_status
  • Dispatch a task to a specified kernel:
kernel_run(kernel, type, task)
  • Switch the default model route:
kernel_switch('kimi')

Notes

  • Search tools: kimi_search/kimi_fetch appear only when dsh-kernel-kimi is installed and Moonshot credentials are present; grok_search/grok_fetch behave similarly. The official web_search is DeepSeek’s in-house search and is not a wrapper.
  • System prompts: Each kernel registers the upstream provider’s system prompt. In a session, only that kernel’s prompt is visible, decoupled from the parent preset.
  • Fallback routing: If a kernel’s official API quota is exhausted, you can enable fallback routing. Set the environment variable DSH_KERNEL_USE_FALLBACK=1 to enable it.
  • Permissions and source code: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current dsh process. Please inspect the source code and license before installing.

Conclusion

With dsh-kernel-mesh, you can uniformly manage multi-vendor models and subagent recipes within DSH. For detailed documentation and source code, see: SkillHub Directory | GitHub.
